After I downloaded the DLC, I was greeted with massive frame drops and stutters. I tried adjusting my settings from low to ultra, but It didn't make one difference. I tried to troubleshoot by reinstalling my drivers/ updating them, setting my RTX 2060 as my main etc. It was only when I opened up MSI Afterburner was I presented with odd GPU utilization. Every 10 seconds or so, my GPU goes from 99% to 50%(Sometimes 1%), and the frame rate plummets with it to 15 fps or lower. I normally get about 50-60? any solutions?
It was stuttering in the live stream with sam who has a RTX 3090! Perhaps it isn't the GPU but something to do with the CPU and multiple cores? Like you I would love to know the answer for sure.
I too had some bad stutter, but after looking into it, it was a result of some of the custom settings I had applied to the engine.ini file. The texture streaming setting specifically. As soon as I removed that one, and a few shadow related ones, I could drive at 320 with no stutter.
Not really any settings to share. I wish there were. I just removed the "r.TextureStreaming=0" from the engine.ini file, and a few shadow settings. After doing so the game ran much smoother, with just very rare load hiccups, as most routes have, but no stuttering like crazy like I too had before editing the file. If you have not added anything yourself to that file, then there's nothing I can tell you to edit. The settings I used were all added to make things look better, and I just removed some to make it run it smoother. None of the settings were there to improve FPS. More like the other way around, hence me removing some.
I play on an Acer Nitro 5 laptop, 10th Gen I7 16GB, 1660 TI GPU 6 GB, All settings Ultra. 60 FPS, 50 in Marseille, no stutter, I have Vsync turned off and I haven't done any custom changes in the setup ini files. The cores seldom get above 60% usage, RAM 50% usage but GPU hits 100% but it doesn't show in game
