A little while back I put together a video showing the differences (and similarities) between TSW’s version of the LIRR, and how it is in real life.

    Here’s that vid

I’d say they did an overall fine job at the recreations but some things are more different than they seem. I’m planning to do this for some other routes as well (and maybe a revised one for this route to line the shots up better).

now idk bout the part when it comes to Nostrand Av but they probably were in production before Nostrand Av station was even renovated.

Possibly, but damn, big difference. When searching for pics of Nostrand before the renovation it kept showing me pics of the nearby 3 Train station.

Yea they were probably in production before Nostrand Av was renovated...they tried but this DLC still feels dead timetable wise...this DLC needs an expansion in timetables

Facts, I'd rather have the real timetable than the fake one in the game. LIRR is extremely busy IRL, but in the game, that isn't reflected.

I think they did an average job. I wish they would add exit signs and platform signs in ststions such as hicksville. Penn Station feels like a copy paste from nec and dtg didn't bother adding the proper signs to that route

It needs an expanded timetable and a extension

It needs to be rebuilt from scratch. One of the worst routes in terms of performances, and the transition to TSW2 didn't help, making fps at Penn Station even worse. According to some video on YouTube, it runs pretty well on PS5.

Fr. A redone route, with performance enhancements, an extension to Ronkonkoma & Port Washington, the M7/3/9 all included, the real timetable and an actual accurate recreation of the stations/places along the route.

Also they need to use all East River tunnels instead those two tunnels barely used for one Belmont Park trip.....NEC was terrible, they even had amtrak using the main LIRR tunnel into Penn Station

I dont think so depend on who gave them references from MTA or so idk but overall the route is not that good based on performance and timetables...how they advertise it as busiest(which it's one of the busiest), and they only gave 181 timetables and the german contents get like nearly 300+ services

That’s what pissed me off the most. HMA gets 400 services but LIRR gets 181. I understand there was no DM30AC. But like bro, y’all reused the M7 services for the M3. They can include the real timetable for HMA and SKA, but not LIRR?

And I know it wasn’t the MTA’s fault, because the MTA is extremely helpful when it comes down to people creating media/movies/games on the System (NYC Subway, LIRR, MNRR)

We need more love towards American Passenger.

I’m currently working on an LIRR Review and I mention the same thing, a lack of services and support for the route. I do have a little hope in the Preserved Team going back and doing more along it.

Maybe a 3rd party group is creating the port Washington Branch,Long Beach or Babylon Branch as we speak for TSW 2.

Skyhook? I don't think Rivet is working on anything except the Arosa Line right now since they just put out a survey asking us what types of things we want to see from them next.

I don't think any third-party dev was working on TSW at that time. The first Third-Party DLC was made by rivet and that was a German Loco DLC that came out earlier this year/late last year.

There were no voice announcements in the lirr in tsw2020 so there wouldn't be any in tsw2 for the lirr

Hopefully they’ll extend the lirr route to Long Beach or oyster bay since the tracks from mineola go half way to east Williston.

Nostrand Ave isnt the only station that's changed. Both Forest Hills and Kew Gardens got platform extensions to fit 6 cars. And that was before the 3rd track project began.

Hempstead branch third track? You mean Main Line third track, from Floral Park to Hicksville along with the accompanied grade crossing eliminations along the main line.

The MTA is upgrading the lirr sysytem quickly yet they continue to go broke. What a joke.

I believe there was a group of people planning on doing extensions on LIRR but that was when everyone thought a public editor was coming and anyone could make things like they could in TS. As there is no public editor coming those plans will no longer be possible.

And they should definitely add one of the diesel locomotives along with its Branch line I hope they’ll add the oyster bay Branch for 2021 for train sim world 2.

Join r/nycrail and you'd get a lot of people upset for that. There is a big issue in the TA when it comes to money. And lowkey, it ain't the TA's fault.

That's unfortunate. I was even thinking of doing extensions with the editor. Then the FAQ for TSW 2 came out and straight-up said "No Editor" that was a hit to my heart, but at least we don't have to worry about it anymore.

It seems some workers within the MTA find loopholes to get overtime pay for hours they didn't work for

Yeah well, that's LIRR for ya. At least on the Subway you'll always get paid overtime (for hours you worked)

My grandfather is one as well. He’s been working on the A/C for over 20 years.

I plan to follow his footsteps (with the IRT of course).

Just watched a cab ride video of the Port Washington branch on LIRR (Penn to Port Washington). It would be awesome if this branch could be added to the route in TSW. I know it probably never will be, but it is such a picturesque part of the LIRR, especially going over Manhasset Viaduct.

I would love to see the Port Washington Branch in the game. I love how it is just an isolated line, with a nice number of stations. I also love how it runs alongside the NYC Subway for most of it's route (The 7 Train up until Flushing - Main St).
