Welcome back to the Train Simulator Screenshot Contest!

This week's theme is: Reproduce a photo

This weeks contest will end early and the winner will be announced on the 24th December. We will continue the competition again in the new year.

Follow us on Instagram (instagram.com/trainsim) to see your screenshots featured on our feed!

    How does it work?

You can submit your screenshot to the thread, and every Friday we will choose which screenshots will go to the loading screens. Shortly after, we will open a new thread and announce the winners. Each week has its own theme which is voted for by the community.

    Competition Rules:
    • Limit is 2 screenshots per person; 1 screenshot per post.
    • Include in your post the route the screenshot was taken on as well as the name of the train (if applicable).
    • Screenshots must be in a 16:9 resolution, at least 1920x1080 pixels.
    • Screenshots must fit the theme of the week, as stated at the beginning of this post.
    Other Rules:

    • Official content only. Please make sure anything that is not available on the Steam Store or Dovetail Store is not shown in the screenshot. - This means no reshade, repaint mods, track upgrades or workshop routes.
    • Your entry may be disqualified if it is deemed to not follow these rules. Please limit chat to only when absolutely necessary.
    • Competition closes at Thursday 24th (UK time). The winner will be chosen every Friday.
    • Winner's Prize: The winning screenshot will appear in the game as a loading screen for 4 weeks!

    T&C:
    • Please refer the terms and conditions for this competition here:
    https://dovetailgames.com/competition-terms-and-conditions/
    • Note that by submitting an entry to this contest, you are consenting to us using your screenshot as a loading screen and showing it on our social media channels (such as Instagram)

Since we're reproducing a photo, would you like us to include the original photo as well?

I'm fairly certain he means producing a screen shot that is similar to a photo of real life.

A railroading event for the ages! - To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal in 1989, a number of vintage railroading equipment was brought in to the station for display. The main stars of this event were Union Pacific 8444, and Southern Pacific 4449. The two locomotives made their entrance in style as they arrived at the station running side-by-side.

A recreation of a recreation. Original photo (1995 Train Magazine) taken of PRR Alcos, next photo of Conrail Geeps. Due to the lack of Conrail content in TS, I set the recreated photo in modern times, continuing the trend of the photos in the article.

Yes, my shot has a P42 because I don't have a F40PH in my arsenal yet. Also since the articles pictures were from 1995 when Conrail roamed the line, and there isn't any Conrail content (besides the NS heritage unit) I decided to modernize all my recreations.

This is taken on the route Tadami Line: Aizu-Wakamatsu - Tadami, with the included KiHa 140 DMU, the first Japanese DMU in the game.

Hope for more Japanese content in the future!

The KiHa 130 was 1st, as it was released in 2017.

Also the DMU for the Tadami Line is a KiHa 40, not 140.

Where did you get that GWR 158, if it's a 3rd party that it's not allowed in the contests according to DTG Jamie's post

A particularly high standard this week- congratulations to Blacknred81.

When I suggested this as a topic I said reproduce a photo' or film still (though it might be tricky to post a still for comparison). Can painting be added to that? Cuneo on his own would provide plenty of inspiration.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and be well everyone.

Congrats BlacknRed81 once again, real life vs virtual shot looks awesome and quite similar minus the real life photo having a different train that looks like GP9 instead of GP30B.

Yeah, they look like GP9Bs. But I'm not complaining. The shot still looks absolutely stunning Blacknred81

Yes, I believe the original photos had GP9Bs, but we don't have those in game anywhere, and I didn't want to use the UP GP9 in the GP9 pack, so I went with the GP30B's instead.
