Hey all, i noticed there is not a lot of Scottish routes on train sim, i wondered if dovetail still has interests in Scotland, there is many routes in Scotland, e.g. Edinburgh - Helensburgh/Milngavie via Bathgate, Aberdeen to Inverness, The Highland mainline, Edinburgh - Glasgow central via shotts, The Ayrshire coast and the inverclyde lines, only wondering if they do still have interest's in Scotland.

Although they aren’t all by DTG I’d always thought Scotland was well represented. WCML, ECML, Edinburgh to Glasgow, Kyle line, Scottish East Coast, West Highland, Western lines of Scotland, West Highland South, Glasgow Airport - and others will probably correct omissions and errors in that list.

Doesn’t mean that there couldn’t be more but I think it’s more than fairly represented at the moment.

It's not just DTG that make routes... There are quite a lot of Scottish routes out there as third party DLC that work within Train Sim

I’ve just got the Just Trains Scottish ECML, but it stops at Dundee, and doesn’t continue to Aberdeen.

I read on JT that this year they will be releasing the route from Edinburgh to Inverness, one I know well. Hopefully one day there’ll be an Inverness to Aberdeen one too, and the Inverness line to Wick and Thurso.

There aren’t that many Scottish routes left, so once those are done, the main routes will be covered.

I was baffled there for a minute... I thought Scotland was fairly well represented... What I do think is needed is back dated version of Edinburgh Glasgow... It's crying out for some top n tail 27's & push pull 47/7's...

The JT website says the line runs from Inverness to Perth
AFAIK from posts on their Facebook page it is not going south of Perth - but that might have changed

S.W.Wales gets nothing, west of Swansea is not represented at all.
I tried extending the Swansea - Bristol - Shrewsbury merge westwards.
But i am no route builder and anyway the era is to modern for my tastes, really.

    Same butty, same.

There was SWW v5.5.1 but it was massively unfinished and has now disappeared off the interwebs, this was the link to it > http://www.oakwood-shed.co.uk/sww5/sww_route5.html which as you can see is now dead.

It wasn't wholly accurate but if finished would've at least scratched the itch of going further South West.

We might have to 'change trains' at Perth having used the JT SECML route from Edinburgh...

If you are not in a hurry
Edinburgh to Perth is 56.70 miles and 1h 20m
Edinburgh to Dundee is 59 miles and 1h 15m
Dundee to Perth is 20.5 miles and around 20 mins
So 20 mins and 20 miles (ish) longer
