Controversial though it is, precision scheduled railroading is here to stay. One of its side effects is longer trains. Anyway else want to see some trains representative of this?
Trains AFAIK in game are already shorter than real life now, and I don't see longer ones being added outside of scenarios due to performance implications on Xbox and PS4 consoles.
As it is now the PC version of TSW has longer freights then the console versions. I think the current PC limit on SPG is around 60 while on console is 40, open to correction.
Consoles is 50 on SPG. And at Cumberland you could put 2 50 car trains together, but than the FPS goes extremely down.
At SKA I think it is relatively realistic. The intermodal trains have 30 cars there. For Germany that's the normal length in real. American freight trains are shorter in TSW2 than in real.
That why I want consist editor. Then I can do my 120 wagons train. I don't think Dovetail will do long train. They are afraid some will complain over fps. When sandpatch grade come the longest trains was 50 wagons. But after much complaining in fps so then the trains became 40 wagons. But I think with TSW2 they are again 50 wagons. But is is much shorter than real trains in North America. 80-200 wagons
We're not getting anything close to PSR length consists anytime soon, Sand Patch's car limit is maybe half of what articulated steam locomotives carried in the 50's. The day super big yards like North Platte can be ran with realistic levels of freight cars at 30+ fps then we might get super long consists. However as long as a place like San Fran runs at 20ish fps we're probably gonna be seeing shortened consists.
