Had to submit a ticket as the game would not load. it kept freezing on both class 506 and 76. All other routes in my collection work but this one does not. However, it looks great and know that support will give me some advice.
Have you tried verifying integrity of game files? https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335
Having same problem, Dump file on loading 50% of the time, shame, it's good when it works. There's a lot of disappointment on the Steam forum about this issue.
Thanks again SimulatorDaz. I would imagine i will get the same reply in the next couple of days and i have submitted tickets to support.
I have seen one scenario writer, saying that this version of the Woodhead line requires more resources from ones PC than the earlier route and suggests lowering your Graphics. This may be of use to some of those experiencing problems.
Have tried that but have received a ticket acknowledging the issues and that the developers are seeking a fix/update.
On the main Steam TS2018 forum there's a thread on this very topic "New Woodhead is broken. DTG please fix it." http://steamcommunity.com/app/24010/discussions/3/1693788384145189038/ So far 229 posts and growing (quite a few cheesed off customers!). If so inclined, I'd strongly recommend people here add their grievances to that particular thread. Strength in numbers and all that! It has probably become apparent to posters here, that the majority of TS players on Steam will not be moving over to participate in this forum. 20,000+ historic discussion threads on that forum, in a far easier & more user friendly format. Why start over, just for the sake of it. i.e. If it ain't broke no point in trying to fix it. All the best.
Hello. Having had the original Woodhead route for some time, I saw the addon (Blue) available in the sale. After loading it, I note the refresh rate (FPS) on all settings is an appalling 2-3 frames per second. Every single other route works fine. I've upped the RAM, and even put a much improved Graphics Card in, and no difference whatsoever. I'm a bit worried that this is the case with all new DLC. I was planning on getting the new London - Birmingham add on, but it it's going to be like this, I'll keep my money....
Woodhead in Br Blue is a very demanding route, so you shouldn’t have as many problems with other newer routes apart from London Waterloo to Portsmouth
London Waterloo to Portsmouth has been fine. I can't understand why the original Woodhead (50's 60's) is fine though.
With an: i7 CPU. (x8) 16Gb Ram. 4Gb GPU, It shouldn't be a problem. Spending £800 on a PC, it should DO everything.
Believe me, it's appalling. I just whish they'd done an add-on for the short Glossop branch. That's the main reason I got the route.
Glossop is on the BR Blue Woodhead. I haven't had too many problems running it and I have quite an old system. I have only created a scenario of the Waterloo Portsmouth route so far, I shall try running it over the weekend but I didn't get the feeling it was that bad on the stability front. GEML has always been the worse in my experience.
It runs okay but I think the Liverpool Street to Stratford section can be a bit dicey sometimes especially on a intensive scenario, it has been better since 64 but I found unless the settings were turned right down I would be waiting for it to crash.
So much wrong with the BR Blue Woodhead route. The track layout at Piccadilly is wrong - No Access to the Western Lines The Signal on the UP at Godley Jn has the Track Link in the wrong line so it is always Red so there is no info if you are going Main Line or Up Loop And the Developer though it would be a Good Idea to use Light Flares on the Class 76 You have to have Light Flares enabled which adds another drain on the resources I wish I had not bought it Glossop is there though Peter
I get well over 20fps and I run a 10 year old PC.. and I have RWEnhancer and Reshade running 7 plug-ins, and I'm running at 2560x1600 resolution. I think you need to look more towards your PC than DTG for a problem. Your PC is faster than mine... I think. You just say i7... but not with one... same with your GPU. I have a i7-3960X (6 core), 16GB RAM, and a 4GB GTX980. It runs absolutely fine, and not really much slower than anything else.
