Having played Euro Fishing for a long time and enjoyed it despite the many glitches I decided to invest in The Catch as it was on offer on Xbox. Being in Scotland I obviously decided to make Loch Mickle my first venue to visit. It pretty much immediately became disappointing and irritating. What sort of lazy,inept researcher would put various carp species, especially koi, into a Scottish loch?. The same applies to Atlantic Salmon, yes Scotland does have some of the most famous salmon rivers in world but it certainly doesn't have lochs that hold Atlantic salmon apart from salmon farms!. Yes it's a video game but it's a simulation game so surely it ain't a great ask to get major details like what species are where correct.
Hi nick4ddavis, thank you for the feedback. The team works hard trying to find a good balance between simulation and creating an accessible video game for everyone. We will be sure to pass on the feedback about these inaccuracies, although it is unlikely this will be amended in The Catch. This is because the venues are embedded within the DFL, Mastery and other modes which require players to have the chance to catch multiple fish such as Koi and Atlantic Salmon.
One of the games fixes that needs to be addressed immediately for me on XBOX One is the dang machine gun mid sound not always loud but it's there and extremely annoying when certain rods and reels are used and then you face or use the trolling motor or even if you don't and then the ba dadadadadadada.... continuously till you either leave....the lake, or the venue (tournament), or the area on the boat and run around for a while.....then return and then the fish act like nothing you put out is attractive...yet you still hear the water splashing etc...but bites are non existent...and when you go elsewhere....fish are 1-4 lbs and no bigger... It's frustrating to pay for a game and then this..... Makes me turn it off and play something else!
