I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but I cannot get the ICE to move.

    1. I’m setting forward.
    2. Opening doors
    3. Putting on lighting.
    4. Setting destination.
    5. Setting headlights.
    6. Turning on SIFA, PZB and LZB.
    7. Turning on AFB.
    8. Setting the AFB lever to 40kph.
    9. Brakes are released.
    10. Parking brake released.
    11. Doors are closed.
    12. No power. Train doesn’t move. Red square around throttle position on the HUD.
    What am I missing?

Pantograph to raise and circuit breaker to closed!

    That made it work!

I’m pretty sure we didn’t have to do that originally. I’m sure the pantograph was already raised and the MCB closed.

As part of the update to keep us on our toes!
It took me ten minutes of profanity and nashing of teeth before I figured it out!

It’s an odd thing to change during an update. Maybe now that the TGV has the raising of the pantograph as part of its starting procedure they are going to introduce it on all trains that have one to keep a ‘house style’ across DLCs. It would make sense to have a house style of doing things.

While I appreciate a cold start (at least somewhat cold) in a timetable service, it doesn‘t really make sense though. Why would an ICE in a station lower its pantograph? Even in sidings (parked and not in use) German EMUs rarely if ever lower their pantographs.

I‘d like to hear DTG‘s thoughts behind this change.

Especially given the ICE service doesn’t originate in Köln.

Yep, some things don't make sense. I don't understand that either. Even thou I haven't been on SKA since the update... It definitely is not good in sense of reality/immersion and doesn't add to the gameplay but rather makes gameplay less realistic and that is sad really.

On another hand, maybe they are testing it out to see how community reacts to it. I hope they fix this as ICE on SKA is in the middle of the route. If it was on HMA at Munich only then it would be different story and very much welcomed addition to the gameplay.
    Do I make sense?

Having a little bit of trouble, with ICE, Talent 2, when safety on. Alarms go on in bottom right, then brakes, come to a stop. What I'm doing wrong when driving these trains?

What safety systems did you activate? SIFA, PZB, LZB?
To me it sounds like trouble with SIFA. Make sure you press your SIFA key (Q for PC, circle for PS4) every 30 seconds.

Here a little tutorial about the PZB:
The 85 Light indicator is only for passenger trains, the 70 light indicator is for Goods Trains and the 55 light indicator is for heavy goods trains with a heavy weight. If your Light indicator is on the 85, then you shouldn't overspeed 45 km/h until you pressed "PZB/LZB frei". If you pressed that, you can drive faster than 45 km/h.

If you see a Signal with yellow light, that means that you should be attentive for signals at danger (I will not explain the explanation of signal lights.)
You should press "PZB/LZB Wachsam". The yellow 1000 Hz indicator goes on. Then you should be under 85 km/h in 23 Sec. If you are now under 85 km/h, the train gives you a Emergency Brake (Zwangsbremsung). The Same is with the 70 indicator, that means that you should be under 70 km/h if you see a yellow light signal. The same goes to the 55 light indicator.

That was my rough tutorial about the PZB. Please report any further questions. Thanks!

I feel like they need to revert back to having the train power systems on instead of us having to turn them on on the ice on Koln Aachen because it's simply unrealistic especially if we are not even taking the train into service from the depot. Drivers coming into Koln HBF or Aachen HBF don't turn off the train and lower the pantograph. I feel like that is an unnecessary and unrealistic feature to have. Maybe they should've added the full line of the route or part of the route where we can use the depots so we can have that feature be more realistic
