North American Freight Routes

    Which ones would you most like to see? Sherman Hill? Cajon Pass? The Alaska Railroad? Something else they have never done before? I'm mostly a NA freight guy, and just wondered what everyone else wants.

    Something in the era between the Upcoming Clinchfield Route to Modern Times would be nice, like the 70s to the early 90s.

    I know people are maybe tired of Sand Patch but an extension to that Route to Connellsville would be nice so we could get some more variety of engines someone had this in suggestion box but was made about the time I started the Canadian Pacific would give us 100 miles of railroad until we could get other routes done just a thought. Also since Rockwood isn’t the greatest stopping place Connellsville has a pretty good yard there For more switching or at least a Home Depot to do things.Further west is Connellsville, PA. This area features a large CSX rail yard along with an Amtrak station served by the Capitol Limited. The Wheeling and Lake Erie also runs and interchanges with CSX here.

    Well I wanted the AC6000Cw would love having a SD70ACu also SD70 ACe also.

    BNSF Chicago - Galesburg; NS North West Indiana; UP Cajon Pass; CSX Southern portion of Clinchfield.

    I think route from the 30s-60sera would be great. Former DL&W on the Cutoff Route would be awesome with the Route going from Scranton PA through the beautiful Pocono Mountains and then to Hoboken NJ. It would be a great mix of freight and passenger traffic.

    More of a broad concept then a route, but something I would like to see is a 1940's route featuring very early diesel locos. And when I'm saying early, I'm not talking the F7, I'm talking older and often forgotten designs the FT, the Early E-units, the SW1, the NW series, Alco designs like the RS-1, or the GE centercabs. Overall there's a lot of interesting locos that would make the time period pretty unique even without steam locomotives, and I think having at least one route covering that would be great.

    Cajon would be good but there is the BNSF issue. And if you have it in Run 8, probably can’t really beat that version.

    One area that might be interesting is part of the St Louis to Kansas City via Sedalia, I have the SIAM traffic simulation of this route and it is very busy, quite a bit of local freight and some Amtrak too. The whole route far too long, but it ought to be possible to identify a suitable 50 mile section.

    Feather River Canyon was my favourite US route in Train Sim classic, I would love to see that in Train Sim World.

    I also like the look of the CSX New River Subdivision (which also has the potential for some small Amtrak action)

    UP also has trackage rights over Cajon so that's a possibility. And I'm curious. Isn't that Kansas City - St Louis route a KCS line? If so, there might be a licensing issue.

    Feather River Canyon would be amazing for sure. Beautiful route. I'd also love to see a TSW2 version of Soldier Summit, with the same locos as in OGTS. I might be a bit biased on that one, though. Especially seeing as D&RGW is my favorite livery and the SD9 is definitely one of my all time favorite locos.

    Well then just use UP stock, keep in mind the TS Classic version is largely a UP route first, the only bit of BNSF stock used is a ATSF F7 in one of the free roam scenarios. As for Run 8 you could be beat it in several respects, visually could make a much better looking version of the route in TSW. Run 8 from what I understand focuses heavily on track plans and signaling, and a few key landmarks, but has fairly basic scenery otherwise. Also TSW would have scenarios and service mode, so you'd have lots of stuff to do right away. Run 8 doesn't really have any preset runs, you largely need to make your own, or go to someone's server. There's also some other things you could consider that could differentiate it, like setting it in a earlier era.

    Palmdale Cutoff is an option, but may leave the BNSF tracks pretty bare.

    In the SIAM traffic sim it is UP and SP traffic with one Katy train that enters and exits the territory at Sedalia (I believe that line is now closed).
