    Hello.

Has anyone managed to start the C40-8W. I've tried many different ways, with no success.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards,
    Nathan.

The generator switch is on from inside the cab. Engine switch is also on and engine control switch is on start.

Are you trying to cold start the loco or get a running loco to move? If you‘re trying the latter, then this
is your problem. The isolation switch needs to be on run, not start.

    Hi
I was trying to a cold start. I have now worked out how to do it. I put in the engine control in to isolate then press the start button for a few seconds, you will here a bell ring. After that I then put the engine control switch back to start, and hit the start button and bam it started.

Ah, ok. Haven‘t done a cold start for the Dash 8 yet. Glad to hear your problem is resolved:)
