Looks great, but I think I’m going to have to wait for a sale, after my holiday splurge! when does AP have sales? Easter? Autumn? Winter?
most recently - summer bank holiday and Christmas. would guess there would be an Easter or May bank holiday one too from that.
No matter when the NEXT sale is, the sale you want is when the CEP is included, which I would imagine would be much later on
I'll be getting it today but I hope with all its bells and whistles, (the interior detail) that my creaky pc can handle it. Fingers crossed.
I notice AP has a fuller range of MUs than locos: is that just because there are more about these days, and it’s harder to get access to older locos?
AP do very well at getting access to heritage stock and seemingly at getting in contact with heritage routes or owners
A bit hefty on my pocket... I'd like it at some point so can wait for it but I'm not literally wetting my pants so much that I have to have it... Same as the 317 that was released back in October, I like that too but I'll wait for it... I picked the 313 up over the xmas sale & I want the 314 next... Just a case of perseverance... Eric Would like to see a 304 / 309 / 310... How 'bout it Dunkrez...???
Just read the AP bio about the 411/412... I see they have implemented a wobbly phone cord... Its something that's lacking in all other cabs & I'd like to see it in the AP YouTube video... Can anyone point me to where it is in the video please??? I just haven't got 45 mins to sit and watch it at the mo... Thanks in advance... Eric
I already guessed that the price point would be £29.99 following on from Woody's AC4400 @ £27.99 - can't help but feel that perhaps more marketing and more customers combined with better integration of these 3rd party add-ons for a much more sensible price point would be the way forward for all. An immaculately made car for GT Sport costs a few pounds - this should be the aim of the devs.
Whilst I could agree that in theory making a fully detailed train should be as easy as making a car in GT sport, it's not. I don't know how much time it takes to create a brand new unit in TSx, get it as detailed and authentic as AP do, recording sounds on a live unit etc etc Given the lack of people / companies ho create units from scratch I can only presume it's a very difficult thing to do
Will definitely pick it up later at some point. I was a very good customer of AP over the hols, and will spent some time learning to drive the ones I just bought in the meantime!
It's literally just numbers that reflect the price point. There is no more work in creating a loco than there is creating a car for GT Sport. Even the dev time is about the same (6 months).
I can take six months to create a scenario... but that's doing 1 hour a day... I don't know enough about creating DLC for either game to say which takes more man hours or expertise
According to the AP blurb it took three years to develop. It seems that it's taking years to download. Twice I've had internet interruptions.Or could it be there is so much demand that there's a bottleneck at AP?
It's a 1.4GB download if I remember correctly, haven't tried to download it yet but will get it on the go now and see if there is a bottleneck. Update: No problems here, downloaded in just over ten minutes. Might be your ISP at fault Cat.
I had no idea it took that long. I assume he works on several things in one go. I might dare to hope that a heritage DMU might be somewhere in his workshop, I did ask him once but it seemed quite a firm no! I will be getting it but will have to wait for a few weeks as my I am recovering from open wallet surgery after the Christmas sales!
From the video that's been posted about it I find it strange that there's no normal horn... All the horn examples sound defective (varying states of tune) in one way or another... What's everyone else's opinion on it??? Eric
Have to agree ) The 411 is/was the train I travelled on most. As I suspected, a bit resource hungry but that's my pc which I'm going to upgrade soon. Hopefully AP have more slam door stock in the pipeline.
The hornsounds are spot on, when I worked on the railway the sounds were known as ''Southern Region farts'', because that's exactly what they sound like, he's got it mirrored very well, AP must have access to some authentic stock to get it sounding so right. Massive pity that he doesn't have a green livery with no high intesity light on, these EMUs were constructed in the 1950s/60s, surely they could have done this livery without one, how very disappointing. Cheerz. Steve.
Yeah, pretty much so, the old rolling stock certainly, newer modern EMUs have all fancy, schmancy hornsounds, completely different. Cheerz. Steve.
AP are spot on with sounds, that's how they started with sound packs recorded in-situ with the actual stock. They have a video on their site on how they recorded sounds from the 205. I would suggest that horns varied between each unit. Refurbished units in SR Green doesn't look right. Perhaps a Volume 2 for the as built version, please.
I believe they're talking about their personal order of purchase rather than the release dates from AP
