When I comment or like a post on a thread, it automatically watches it, can anybody help? (Some original text from post was removed due to bad joke judgement)

I do know how to stop that happening but you probably would not be interested in what I have to say. Work it out for yourself.

I actually don’t know. I was joking too, as you could probably tell. I do it manually from the top post where it says Unwatch Thread if I ever have to unfollow a thread, but I don’t mind the notifications, so rarely use it. There might be something under notifications in your profile page.

Thanks, it's just because some of the posts are discussions that don't involve me.

When you post a reply, click more options. There's then an option to watch the thread. Deselect that option and away you go

If you don't want to watch your post or threads you just made in the future. There's the Preferences setting on your profile where you can disable auto watch on threads/post/etc. It works for me.
