Hey all i have been watching the streams since summer where the time was i think 5 pm but they changed it to 8pm i dont know about you but i would rather it not be as late do people agree or disagree and if you do disagree please dtg listen the streams are a bit late and is it possible to change the time of streams DTG Protagonist DTG Natster
For me it does not matter I won't be home at that I will out working so I will miss all of the streams including SEHS
Whatever time they put them on at it is going to be inconvenient for a lot of people to watch them. In this way they will never win with pleasing the viewers. The stream time has stuck at 8pm UK time for a long time now, so it must be working out well for the people who make the streams. This doesn’t just include the presenters, there are the chat mods as well. Having the streams at 8pm gives them all time to get home from work (or have a break if they work from home) and have something to eat before battling with the great unwashed repeating the same route request posts that are never going to be answered again and again. Nobody wants to do that on an empty stomach. I can’t see it changing.
The absolute best time for us to stream would be 23:00 UTC. That way we catch the tail end of the European evening while enabling those on the other side of the Atlantic to join in greater numbers (as it is we get the east coast, mid afternoon). It also means it's not impossible for those in Australia to tune in if they're desperate. Our 20:00 UTC slot is there to benefit as many potential viewers as possible without asking too much of those doing the streaming. The W in TSW stands for World.
They shouldn’t be watching them at 8pm either, they should be doing their homework I suppose for a lot of kids all schoolwork is homework at the moment. I think they are safe though, the streams will probably stay at the time they are now.
Yea, I believe both Sam and Natalie have said that the important stream with be upload over the weekend.
Natalie just got back and she has confirmed that this and select others will be uploaded over the weekend.
Either way there really is no good time for a stream to start, does not matter if it is 5pm or 7pm their time. There will always be people who will miss out on the streams due to the time it would start where they live. For me with starts at 5pm their time would be 11am my time and 7pm would 1pm my time. By that I am on the road and working, for others it would likely be the same or in school. So there is really no prefect stream time you just have to make do.
As it is now, the only people in the US who can watch it live are those who are not working because it starts between 12pm and 3pm. Fortunately I'm one of the lucky ones. However watching the reruns is not a big deal. I often do it myself if I'm otherwise busy at the original time. So I vote to leave it unchanged.
Haven't seen it yet but hopefully the SEHS features again in more detail than the Steam one from the weekend (watched that twice now on Youtube)
They said over the weekend on the festival of rail streams (steam) that the next stream would be the roadmap on Tuesday.
