I've always wanted to be able to do a route from one country to another, mainly to see the signalling changes, voltage changes and also scenery. I hope DTG really does a route with HS1 and LGV Nord(basically the Eurostar ) whenever they have the license as that would be a very interesting and fun route to try or another international suggestion is by doing Peprigan to Barcelona High speed to as that could be cool to drive.

(feel free to post other international routes here)

One fitting route (to give meaning to multi-system ICE 3M) would be Aachen - Bruxelles Midi.

HS1 was built to be a seamless transition from LGV Nord, the signaling system and the electrical infrastructure are the same.
TVM 430 on the High Speed section (and the tracks leading to the Eurostar platforms have KVB just like in France instead/togheter with the british AWS).

Notice the similarities between the Class 395 cab and the TGV Duplex (both domestic trains)

It would be better to extend Köln-Aachen towards Bruxelles if you are looking towards seeing different systems and voltages (on the belgian HSL1 they use ETCS) Or LGV Est towards Germany, if you want to stay on the High Speed "theme"

Personally I would love to see the Frejus pass with the change from the italian to the French infrastructure in Modane.

I would propose the route Deventer to Osnabrück. There is an border-crossing IC-route (Amsterdam-)Deventer-Osnabrück(-Berlin, operated with the DB BR 101 (Osnabrück to Bad Bentheim) and the NS 1700 (Bad Bentheim to Deventer), an border-crossing regional service (Hengelo-Osnabrück(-Bielefeld) with Flirt-EMUs. two NS IC routes on the Hengelo-Deventer part, frequent border-crossing freight services from and to the port of Rotterdam (mostlly container-services), and some other minor passenger-services. So, locos could be the DB BR 101, the NS 1700,the Flirt-EMUs, maybe the 185.5 in MRCE livery for freight-service.

    Why this route?
    - It would give the german BR 101 fans an appropriate long route to use the BR 101 (as it runs without the cab car on this route, no annoying cab-car discussion), about 60 kilometers/45 minutes from Osnabrück to Bad Bentheim.
    - It would contain frequent asked Dutch railway stuff with an approproate length.
    - It would preserve the slightly going out of service NS 1700 to TSW.
    - It provides a coupling/uncoupling process in timetable mode (in Bad Bentheim).
    - it provide a diversified variety of many different services
    - It opens the opportunity for a future loco-DLC with the upcoming german ECx, that is scheduled to replace the loco-operated ICs.

So, all in all, there are many reasons to think about this route, even if it isn´t one of the most known routes.
