Well, they took so long with the 395 that they only had 3 Minutes to showcase the 375, also all of our fears with the Ballast and Fences came to life.
Got it, hopefully the brakes are fixed on the 375, I'll wait for the stream to be uploaded on YouTube: )
To make it short, the routebuilding was awful in some places. The lighting was terrible, way to dark and very bright at Chatham which is about the only place which should be dark. Sounds aren't even close to being finished two weeks before release and to round it all off the timetable is an absolute joke. I appreciate what DTG do but this is really not acceptable. Keep in mind that this was a Devbuild, so some of the issues might be fixed for release. But that does not excuse even half of what I've seen today. I'll wait until they stream the release version but it's looking very bad at the moment.
Yes the brakes on the 375 are not as overpowered as on the 377, so that's some good news for a change.
It surely can't be that bad, I'll wait until I watch for myself but the sounds in the worst case scenario are the TS21 for the 395 and the (mediocre) ECW ones for the 375. Which is exactly what I was expecting. What is it about the timetable? Is it missing the services to low-level Stratford? About the brakes, that was the most important thing for me, fantastic!
I guess they couldn't get proper audio for the 395 but you would think they would have reference from ts2021
Even if this was the case (I believe the current London 3D imagery is from 2017), the track layout and structures at York Way/Dock Junctions haven't changed in the last decade...
Either May or June 2018 (depending on how you read it). Google maps tends to be very up to date (not, in my experience, more than 5 years out of date - with the exception of the Scottish Highlands, for some reason).
For significant changes, you need to go back to c.2006, when it was being built (above). Or c.2003 when it didn't exist (below) Google maps is far from perfect, but it gives you a good idea of what things should vaguely look like. By the way, I didn't watch the stream - was it just a dodgy angle and the bridge is correct?
To continue the fence topic. Attached is a photo of the new fence that has been added to SEHS. To put it politely it looks nothing like the real fence, and whilst I'm happy there's now a fence it's still a bit meh.
In real life, the fence is see through. It looks worse than it did. No fence was better than this fence. It is to tall and not see through. What is the point in the scenery behind?
The fence is not see through in places. It's 12 foot high wood panelling. Seen here on the left of the photo.
Be careful what you ask for. Who is starting the petition to have the fences removed again? lol It does the job if you ask me. There’s a fence where there was not a fence before, thus it’s a result. The view isn’t as good now of course but sound-blocking fences do tend to affect sight as well.
The fences do seem a bit overbearing now I must admit. Was DTG trying to make a point to show they’ve added them. Maybe lol. That said it didn’t really bother me either way.
Having seen them in real life from the old lines at Rainham, being on a train through that section and also seen them on stream, I'd say they are an accurate reproduction.
I dissagree, this sideways roof thing still looks better than nothing in my opinion, even if it is very wrong. I still prefer tall and wrong fence over nothing.
