The other day, someone posted something about the location of AP install temp files. I can't find the post anywhere. If someone finds it, or remembers what thread it was can you post a link.

    Cheers

I was just thinking of that yesterday, what if I needed to find that info again. Will have a look and get back to you. Think I was able to regain 10GB of space.

It was a folder called "DownloadedFiles" or something. Trying to find the info on a forum search not so easy!

I have a feeling it was one of the two Peters that posted it.

Sure it was in a thread about computers or hard drives, but can't seem to find it, was earlier in the month.

    Thanks chaps!

That's a location I regularly clean out. I just remember reading it briefly and then I started to worry that there was a super secret location where countless gigabytes of wasted space may be lurking LOL. I can relax. Thanks.

It was me! Glad to see someone found it for you! Its all the fault of the .msi installer that AP use.
In the case of AP DLC it is not really needed.

It was a great tip, Peter. The only files I actually had in that folder were AP files.

Yeah.. it's a great tip. If anyone doesn't realise and buys a shed load of AP stuff, that's tens of GB.

Thank you. I have just removed 17.5GB of files.

Another thing to look out for is copies of screenshots in the Pictures folder. I had read that only generically numbered screenshots were recorded, buried in the steamapps folder, but duplicates are recorded in Pictures labelled by route, which I had read were discontinued.

I don’t know why there’s two recorded, must look to see if there’s a preference setting somewhere, but I was able to retrieve many GB by moving these off C (yes, I take gazillions of screenshots!).
