Another one I quickly whipped up - The livery of my local light rail network Prototype - Bombardier Flexity 2.
There's possibly also the issue of Northern being under government control at the moment. Would they be allowed to negotiate commercial licensing deals?
The VIGIRAIL IRIS320 is a measurement train using a TGV RÉSEAU tri-current, I did an interpretation on how it will looks like if it was on a TGV DUPLEX 200:
An AC4400CW in the early stages of being painted in Rio Tinto livery that is used in the Pilbara region of Western Australia full stop come to think of that I think Rio Tinto use the next model up, the ES44AC, but close enough
The way I think it works, at least here in the USA, is people can make artwork of company/brand logos for their own private use. It is when that artwork is distributed in a way that damages the owner or brand that you have problems. In many cases it is enough that the owner only has to say he's been damaged to get a cease & desist. We can do whatever we want inside the livery designer in the privacy of our own homes, but DTG can't be seen to be profiting from our creations if they depict un-licensed, real world trademarks, logos, or other branding.
I’d think it could be seen as a benefit to both parties. The company getting its logo used would have free advertising, and the company using the logo would make its own money. I don’t understand why companies are so quick to sue in the case of copyright infringement. But I don’t know much on the topic, and there’s probably something I’m missing.
At least with the AC4400CW, you could probably make prototypical Australian stock when it comes to the Pilbara region – they use US Locos anyway
Planning other liveries of TER if the logo isn’t impossible to reproduce on console + I’ll do it under 300 layers
From the roadmap: [Improvement] Livery Designer compatibility for Preserved Collection It's about to be released w/i the next couple of weeks for East Coastway, so I expect the other UK routes will follow before long.
So I did something silly just trying to get used to the livery editor in preparation for the preserved content to be added. Basically, I stuck a 483 into BR Large Logo because it seemed simple. But, I can't work out how to actually choose the livery in timetable mode, I assumed there would be a 'switch livery' button but I can't see it. Edit: Well, it works for other trains fine, but not the 483 for some reason. It just won't give me the option to change livery for it. I'm validating my Steam files atm to see f that fixes it. Here's the livery at least, you can guess what I'm immediately going to put on the 66 lol. Made another out of boredom, I need to work out how the projection tool works at some point.
CN 8952 as a C40-8W (I realize the AC probably looks more like it but I'm pretty sure the SD70 is a DC engine which is why I used C40-8W)
The B81500 from TER Rhône-Alpes ( old livery ) I tried to be the most accurate possible because of the editor limits:
Your French designs are amazing. I'm going to try alsace and hurt myself in the head with all the little bars.
very off-topic but does anyone know why screenshots taken with CTRL-F12 are so massive? like 10,000 kb each. how do I make them small enough to put here.
You can lower the res in Settings- but the easy way is not to paste or upload the whole graphic file here but just hotlink it here from your Dovetail Live railshots page, using the Image command.
can't screenshots taken with ctrl-f12 arn't sent to railshots page they are put on your computer. But maybe I can link it from somewhere

Just a bit of a work in progress, haven't had much practice with text and logos and the warning panels need some tidying around the edges but going alright so far
GBRf 66747 I will consider making the orange darker, but it would require changing a lot of decals as well... it looked OK on the editor anyone knows if/where I can get the code for the original colours to avoid this mistake in the future? Thanks This is definitively my next repaint as well, loved it since I saw a OO model of this unit on YouTube Prototype:
Yeh I have the same problem, my DRS blue is a little too light but there’s lots of little layers to change. The lighting is bad in the editor. I make a scenario with just that locomotive and keep switching from the scenario and back to the editor until the colour looks right in the scenario. When doing the BR blue one I spawned a BR blue 31 next to it and colour matched it by eye.
