Too bad you aren’t hear to get along in the community either - still poor taste to post the same thing twice regardless of your intentions.

Still has nothing to do with SEHS specifically though.

Already a lot more services are available now. Up to 264 from 179, including new layers which enables both freight and railtour services.

Can anyone confirm if they got the pantograph operations correct. I don't think the lead pantograph should be raised in normal conditions.

The pantograph on the leading car is the correct one for the Javelin.

I was doing a bit of reading online last night. It appears that for a single set the rear panto raised is normal conditions. For 2 sets coupled its the lead panto of the front unit and the rear of the trailing unit.

For a single set I have noted either panto raised from Youtube clips. But documentation stats rear only with front for emergency use.

You are correct, most electric trains without diesel back-up have their rear pantograph raised so if it gets struck or pulls down the wires then the front one will be out of danger.
If the front pantograph gets damaged then debris and wires could take out the rear one as well leaving the train stuffed.

When there are two units are together it’s slightly different if they need a pantograph on each unit up. In this case they use the pantographs which are furthest apart.
So then they use the front pantograph on the front unit and the rear pantograph on the rear unit. The thinking is that if the front one is damaged then the rear one is hopefully far enough away that it won’t get damaged and the Automatic Dropping Device will have more time to drop the pantograph - mostly out of harms way.

Noticeable exceptions include the Hitachi Class 80x units. They have backup diesel generators on all units so the loss of both pantographs is not the end of the world. They can then have the front pantograph up and this means that if the front pantograph starts interfering with the overhead wires then the driver will notice and drop the pantograph to prevent further damage to the wires which could potentially disrupt the entire railway for a whole day.

No. The Sheerness branch is not included in this route or any currently planned add-ons.
