This is just a speculative thread but just thought it'd be fun to see what we'd all like to see included in the upcoming BR Blue 1970's DLC pack. To start you all off, my favourites are...

    Class 35 Hymek
    Class 42 Warship
HST in original condition (as Class 253)
    Class 117 DMU
    Class 123 Express DMU
    Class 128 Parcels DMU

These are all based on types to be frequently seen running from London Paddington in around 1975/6.

What Sam said if I recall was the BR Class 52 (brand new model) in BR Blue with associated names and appropriate rolling stock. But to be honest with out a BR Blue variant version of the GWE route its gonna look silly. But what do I know.

Also these types of thread are really helpful as people see these and the classes that are listed and think ( yes they do actually think) that these are going to be coming to the add on. In no way am I having a go but just be careful that this does not get turned into a "well he said it was coming to the add on DLC"

Those are some great ideas, I'd especially like to see the 123 and 117 DMUs, the 123 would also be good to use in the scenario planner on NTP. Some more Mk1s would be nice as I think we've only got a TSO, BG and BSO at the moment so the addition of a First Corridor and Second Corridor would be useful for expresses.

As clearly stated, this is a Speculative and fun thread with no influence on DTG and their decisions.

It was Adam. He didn't say anything about names IIRC (what he DID say was in reference to the Western Hydraulics pack for TS1).

Class 52 is what is confirmed. I'd like to see a Class 50 in there.

Could occasionally be found near Paddington at that time.

Yes, I'd love to see the class 50 in tsw2 as well, also perhaps a nice class 24/25.

I have been having a lot of fun taking the 40s/45s/47s/52s up and down the GWML in the scenario planner regardless of scenery or accuracy so I don't think the route not being period-specific should be an instant reason to dismiss this. For me it'll come down to what is included in the pack and whether there's anything genuinely new or interesting in there, which there is potential for, whilst I wouldn't pay just for the sake of someone making a simple BR livery, I am more willing to part with my money if there's a new timetable and scenarios thrown in too.

There is a new timetable being done for GWE coming with the BR Blue pack apparently.

I am a plonker. Completely forgot to mention the single car variant of Class 117 which is the Class 121. These and the other classes at the top of the thread were all to be found plodding up and down between London Paddington and Reading during that era.

It’ll be interesting to see if this is just a loco / timetable pack or if there’s some small modifications to GWE, removing the OHLE would definitely make a big difference to the route for a relatively easy job (its a lot easier to remove objects then put them in).

I'm also interested in how they'll approach Reading as, after its rebuild, it'd look very odd with 70s trains running through it.

Much of the route is very different today than it was even in the early 1990's. Back then the stations were tidied up in preparation for the launch of the Thames Turbo fleet which ousted the 1st generation sets. There was no OHLE with ALL services being diesel powered. Also there was the additional station at Westbourne Park which was only lightly used but removed in March 1992 for preparatory sewer repositioning prior to electrification work. Totally different today.

It'd definitely be a big job to get it period accurate. I suppose what we'll get is down to how far they're willing to go, will it just be made to feel like that era (stations in BR branding, OLE removed etc) or actually be a close to accurate representation with everything that's modern changed.
