Hi guys. I'm kinda new to using a PC for gaming these days (I did play games back in the day on Win XP).
I'm looking for a decent(ish) PC that will run with good graphics, sound etc to run TS21 and a few other games.
I don't want a hyper expensive gaming set-up that will cost me thousands as it won't be used as often as my console gaming systems.
I'm in the UK and want something good enough to run games at a decent frame rate (will be coupled to a 4k TV) but cannot afford a fortune.
I currently have an Acer Nitro V gaming laptop but it's a few years old now so want something better.
I've heard bad reviews of PC specialist PC builds so am looking to the community for ideas.

Any help would be fantastic. Thanks.

Ive got a PC specialist one. Wasnt my 1st choice and I intend to build on it over time but its doing the trick on ultra and enhanced ini settings.
    I5 10400f
    Gtx 1650
8gb ram (upgraded to 16gb on day one)
    Cost me £600 special offer
    Think they are £7-800 now

Have you thought of buying a reconditioned one ?
Took a punt and bought one for my son from eBay.
Normally I build my own machines but couldn’t be bothered this time.

The hard drive was 250 but I replaced it with an SSD and added a Nvidia rtx video card.
Works fine and gives him 60fps in tsw.
He’s happy and I got my machine back :)

RYZEN 3600x, GTX 2060 6gb and 16gb ram will run well in TSW? I'm thinking of building one with those specs.

Many of the recommendations above are great values for playing TS2021 and TSW, but I would caution you if you want to play at native 4K on your TV. To play TSW at 4K with decent frame rates you’d probably be looking at a GPU that cost £400-£700 by itself plus the rest of the PC. Just something to keep in mind.

That's pretty similar specs to my computer! It should run just fine :)

Depends what your current setup is, and your TV/monitor's resolution.

I have a Ryzen 3700x, RTX 2070 Super, and 16GB DDR4-3200 (I think? I'll double check) RAM. On Sand Patch Grade, as a point of reference, I get a solid 45-50fps at Ultra graphics preset, with TAA on, outputting at 125% screen percentage, and 2560x1440p resolution.

Can you try at 200% on 1080p? Thinking of building one with similar specs

Sure thing, I can test that out for you today. I would expect performance to be pretty similar, if not marginally better.

EDIT: I did I368 - Yoder to Cumberland on Sand Patch Grade, fairly heavy rain, at 1080p rendering at 200% screen res, with the same hardware (3700x, 2070 Super, 16GB DDR4 RAM, no overclocking on anything), and was getting 47-52 FPS, with the occasional venture up to around 54-55, and hitting 60-70 FPS standing outside of the cab while the train was stationary.
