TSW DELETED ALL OF MY LIVERIES. I went to go and create a White and Yellow livery for the Class 375 (I pressed the copy button), and my PS4 said “An Error Occurred” and it said something like BAK_ Please help, I spent hours on my liveries!!!
It’s just happened to me. Had a “Dovetail Game Error, and then it returned me to the loco selection screen. I’m very very irritated because I’ve spent over 20 hours on about 15 liveries.
That sucks, given how much time and effort I put on livery editor the thought of this happening to me is terrifying. Does PS save all the game data on cloud like xbox? Maybe there is something you can do to recover the data? Are the liveries stored there anyway, so theoretically something like that could not happen on xbox right? Waiting if someone more competent about xbox answers this. Obviously if you do a backup it can't happen on PC either.
Actually, I might actually have some of my liveries saved on the PS+ Cloud. Not sure if XBOX has saved data cloud transfers.
Yes, xbox automatically syncs your saves to the cloud, but I don't know if the liveries are saved there and if they will work after this "error" hopefully you can get some of them back
If any of you impacted by this on your PS4 have a copy of your TSW 2 ‘Application Saved Data’ in the PS cloud (saved very recently prior to the crash), you might be able to restore these files to your PS4 and get your data back. I personally don’t do automatic backups of any applic saved data, because I don’t want to accidentally overwrite good data in the cloud with bad running data on my system. Instead, I manually backup my TS applic saved data anytime I complete something critical in the sim- something I don’t want to have to complete (or create) again. Just passing this along... sorry to hear you guys are getting hit like this- hope someone at DTG is taking this seriously and looking into it (like now). If these crashes and resulting data loss are related to the TSW 2 code, this is totally unacceptable in my book.
Thanks for the heads up! I will give this a look into I was really quite irritated when it happened, so if there is a method of restoring them, then I would gladly take it with both hands
Well I’ve just realised I cannot do this because I haven’t got PS+... Got a USB drive for extra storage connected, but I don’t believe I will be able to gain access to old saves. Oh well. DTG, I’m going to have let this one slide, unfortunately. I am definitely going to have to take a break for a while though to cool down haha
Anything changed in the save is synced to the cloud once you close the game for Xbox. Very convenient but that means no backups if you sync a glitched save.
I guess the only option would be to either pull the plug on the xbox or go offline/unplug the ethernet cable before closing the game and deleting the local save before reconnecting... I'll try on my second account and see if it works
I have done that a few times for other games. It does work. You may even be able to delete the local save with the game still open and then open again to get the older cloud save back.
Fantastic, I still want to try myself, but that's great news, after seeing a few threads like this I was so terrified using the livery editor ahahaha
Yeah it’s because it occurs every time you copy I know that because it happened to me twice so next time don’t ever do that again by exemple I made 3 TGV with Carmillon livery and to save time usually you copy the train to then change details on each train but sadly because of that annoying glitch I had to do the same livery from scratches
