Why does the Medway Explorer (Eastbound) get routed over the slow lines at Rochester and Sittingbourne? From what I can see, this serves no purpose other than to dramatically slow the rail tour down.

Matt said it in a stream, that is only done for fun and diversification, and to pass over tracks you normally don't run on.
Also, in the real world, railtours are put on slow lines since they are the lowest priority on the network.
