Favourite MU, indeed my favourite train to drive, is the Class 101 probably because it's the only train I've driven IRL and the first thing I drove in TS which brought the whole experience back to me. Favourite loco' full stop is the Deltic (Mmm... Deltics) but the model in TS is fairly basic so, heretical though it seems, I think I'd plump for the Class 87 in WCML Over Shap. Once you've sussed the tap-changer and got in the habit of watching out and preparing for the neutral points it's rewarding to drive.
I can't wait for an updated 87. There's one on the way.. I forget who's doing it now though. It used to be way better to drive when the AP sound pack was available for it, but they stopped that when they released the class 86 enhancement pack. The colours are wrong too, Kind of a greeny aqua blue, but there are reskins available for it. Original: Reskin: If you like driving the 87, you'll LOVE the AP Class 86.
Such a hard choice, but if pushed to it I would agree with Pookeyhead and say the AP Class 86 for Loco And definitely the recently released AP 411/412 as the best EMU ever.
But then again................ AP Class 37 AP Class 90 AP Class 91 Oh! and the AP Class 50 which is to die for I see a running theme here................. .............................................Errr Love AP methinks And who can not love the 205 Thumper?????
It's an impossible challenge. So I'm going to cheat a bit. My current favorite US engine is the DD35. It's a beast, has great sounds and a bright, great looking livery. Also a bit quirky. My favorite European continental loco is the ÖBB Taurus. It's a beast, has great sounds and a great looking livery. Déja vu anyone? Due to its characteristics, it's a swiss army knife. I see this livery every 10 minutes pulling freight and then there is the Railjet. Although the combination of a Vectron and its train in this livery is a strong runner up: Moving to the UK, my favorite is the Class 395 - but I could pick the DB ICE 3, or the BR 80x. Modern, flexible, fast and furious. The runner up is the British Rail 101 family in BR blue-white due to the curious, old fashioned way they drive, and the atmosphere they deliver.
My favoirte trains in Ts are the 218 by VR, the 425 by TSG, the Taurus III by RWA and the 420 by Influenzo
My favourite MU must be the ÖBB 4023 from RSSLO because it was my first actually complex train. Just everything about it is great. As for my favourite loco, I think it's the ÖBB 1822 because of it's quite unique driving style.
That looks so much better than the ghastly hue of the default 87 - where is the reskin from, pray tell pookey? Did a search, but only ones I can find don't seem to have BR Blue: https://www.vulcanproductions.co.uk/electric.html
I'm going to be difficult and add in a third category! 1. Diesel locomotive - AP Class 37, runner up: Class 24 2. Electric locomotive - Class 86 (AP enhancement), runner up: Class 76 3. MU - AP Class 411/2, runner up, Class 105 (iirc!)
Until there's an 87 like the AP86, I'll stick with the latter. See the start of that video has cloned passenger syndrome - three of the same woman on the same part of the platform! What scenario is that? Can’t seem to find anything involving a Peter Pan in under either Class 86 or that route in either standard or career scenarios.
It looks like "the Clansman" from WCML North with the loco swapped out and AP weather added. I get that 50s bloke in the brown suit all the time, even in modern day scenarios... it's so annoying.
It was from ATS, but I can't find it on there any more, which is a shame. It came with 4 variants 004, 019, 021, and 032. It's listed in my folder as BR_Blue_AP. Can't find it anywhere online now
I’ll have to look out some screenshots from JT’s Inverness station: there’s basically three types people, and four of each!
