For someone who doesn't own the game already it's potentially going to lead to disappointment. You get the 3 routes with TS2021 but most of the DLC doesn't have scenarios for those routes! I bought the 73p one to get the 3 routes, turned out I didn't have 3 of the other 5 items at that level too so it was a nice bonus (not that I'll ever use the non UK stuff mind you!)
The only problem with this sale is what routes would be needed to run everything with correct scenarios, I cant speak for non US products, but as far as NA content is concerned you would at least need 5 different routes to run each one.... The Acela needs both NEC: New York-Philadelphia and NEC: New York-New Haven The HHP-8 needs the NEC: New York-New Haven The Union Pacific Challenger needs Sherman Hill The Norfolk Southern SD40-2 High Nose has no default scenarios for it. The Tri-Rail F40PH needs Miami - West Palm Beach And the NJT Arrow III needs North Jersey Coast & Morristown Lines EDIT: Added in the actual route that each NA DLC needs for its scenerios.
^^^^^^^^^ I think this will be the source of a lot of unhappy buyers, followed by much rageposting.....
It depends how content they are to run things in QD only. But I agree it may be a problem for DTG. They should make it clear that for full functionality you need more DLC.
Not even that. There's only three routes included in the bundle, and none of those routes is electrified. It's a very weird bundle because you wouldn't be able to use any of the electric trains. The €1 bundle would be nice for new people. The other bundles could potentially be interesting for people already playing this game and having a decent collection of routes to run these trains on.
Do people realise you don't have to install everything you get in the Bundle? It is not like the normal way of buying something where it Automatically downloads everything via Steam YOU Chose which items to install via a Separate Steam Key for each DLC You need to look if you need any of the DLC and think "am I bothered if I don't use the other DLC" What a load of Negative outlook
But that assumes you wish to install all the DLC you get And it assumes this is for people who have never have bought any DLC How many of the 5 US route do you already have? If you are not in to Amtrak Electrics why would you install it? You might only want the Union Pacific Challenger Loco Add-On and it will cost = £4.50 Anything else you decide to install is a Bonus
I was not getting at you Andy but the other people who think "because I also need this, this and that" it is not worth getting. they don't see the point of you only have to need one item to make it worth getting.
Sadly, I only bought the 1 euro tier because I didn't have TS2021 and agree with what was said. These train should have been better matched with the routes that were offered to make more sense for new people. And I'm not talking based on scenarios but based on general usability so diesels for Germany and so on.
The offer was not aimed at new people but to the regular users like yourself who already have a lot of TS Stuff and might wish to expand their rolling stock collection at little cost. Apart from TS2021 there was no routes on offer. But no, despite this being a great offer people just moan - even though the money goes to charity.
Yes, but with a pretty major caveat. With the actual Humble Bundle, like this, the default is 65% to DTG, 20% to Humble, and only 15% to Charity. It's important that when you buy the bundle, you pay attention to the sliders under the price. So you click buy, and then once you choose your price, a set of sliders appear where you can redistribute the revenue where you want. Most people don't notice this or don't bother with it and as a result only 15% of the purchase is going to charity. Humble themselves take a bigger cut than the charity does. You can adjust the sliders however you want, so you can give 100% to charity if you so choose, but you have to remember to do it! You can also change the charity the money goes to! Each bundle has a different default charity but at checkout you can change it to another cause. Certain special bundle like those they run that benefit COVID-19 causes default to 100% to charity, but the vast majority to not. Also important note on the donation breakdown if you do their monthly subscription or purchase from the Humble Store. The monthly subscription is a set 5% only that goes to charity and the charity is set each month by Humble and cannot be changed. If you buy from the Humble Store, 75% of the revenue goes to the developer and either 5% or 10% goes to a charity (you often can choose how much). Also if you're a monthly subscriber you always get a 20% discount in the store. You can choose to have that discount go to a charity rather than to you if you'd like. Also note, some games in the store have 0% going to charity, so pay attention.
A reminder that this has just over one day left! On examining the offer in detail, I found the only things I had were the 421 CIG, Thomson B1 and BR Blue Diesel Electric Pack. So great value for less than a tenner. Worth it for the BR Class 14 alone I haven't redeemed the vouchers for the three items mentioned above that I already have - are we allowed to gift them? If so, I can give the codes to someone here in need.
Thanks Peter. Who would like any of the following, please PM me: 421 CIG - normally £5.99 - https://store.steampowered.com/app/65228/Train_Simulator_BR_Class_421_4CIG_Loco/ Thomson B1 - normally £5.99 - https://store.steampowered.com/app/208289/Train_Simulator_Thompson_Class_B1_Loco_AddOn/ BR Blue Diesel Electric Pack - normally £7.99 - https://store.steampowered.com/app/376950/Train_Simulator_BR_Blue_Diesel_Electric_Pack_Loco_AddOn/
421 CIG and BR Blue Diesel Electric pack gone - only the Thomson B1 steam left. Surely someone must want it for free?!
