There is a bug with the HST and Class 395 where the DSD/Vigilance is still active even when the key isn't in the desk. This only happens when you change ends and leave the safety systems unisolated in both cabs. The DSD goes off in the rear cab and then dumps the brake as, obviously, you don't acknowledge it. I haven't had the issue with any other rolling stock.
I have the exact same issue on PS4/5. I came to check if I did anything wrong while changing cabs but yeah turns out the DSD indeed triggers while driving on the other end. Isolating the DSD on the opposite side is the only way to continue forward Took me a while to make sure that was it… hahaha
Point taken. It does make sense that a system designed for safety cannot be easily disabled as is depicted in TSW
Olaf, older engines like the 45 and 47, at least as modeled in-game, have an AWS cab switch lever, which apparently tells the system "OK, I'm driving from this end now." But how is that handled in the HSTs? Is it connected to the master key?
