Question is it just me? I thought the winning theme was Slow Summit 13 votes. Austria Switzerland only receiving 10 votes. If the theme is Austria / Switzerland then I am out for this week. I Don't have any routes for this part of the world.
I think DTG may have been concerned about the lobbying elsewhere for the slow summit theme. You could always buy a Swiss or Austrian route, there are some great ones available. The Semmeringbahn is a mad rollercoaster main line and not too expensive. Just make sure your brakes are working!
The theme was disqualified as there was evidence of cheating, so went for the next biggest vote on the list. If cheating continues on the vote the theme will be decided by us.
Okey dokey, I'll start the ball rolling with this shot of an Austrian train spotter taking a shot of an Austrian mixed freight train. Loco:- ÖBB 2016 Route:- Mittenwaldbahn: Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Innsbruck
Up on the high Bernina Pass it's cold even in the autumn as an ABe 4/4 III takes its passengers and wagons over the pass to St. Moritz.
As winter sets in the Bernina reservoir starts to freeze over. A pair of ABe 4/4 IIIs pull a freight train through the snow on the Bernina Pass route.
A pair of Siemens ES64U2 'Taurus' engines await departure from Gloggnitz with a freight on the Semmeringbahn.
Decided 1 x train spotter is enough, so final decision is this one I promise. Crossing the River Inn on the Karwendel Brücke just after leaving Innsbruck. Locos:- ÖBB 2016 x2 Route:- Mittenwaldbahn: Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Innsbruck
A pair of Siemens ES64U2 'Taurus' engines just outside Gloggnitz start climbing towards Semmering with a freight. Revoked, just keeping here for anyone who wants to enjoy it.
Switzerland isn't just narrow gauge! An RABe 526 on the Lake Constance: Schaffhausen to Kreuzlingen route.
P.S. Please, inform me if my pictures don't show up now, as before i was informed that they werent opening to big share of users, so i changed the hosting
Route: Albula Line (GR - CH) The first train in the morning to St. Moritz Loco: Ge 6/6 II 704 "Davos"
Some brilliant shots of Austria and Switzerland. Well done Everyone. This weeks winner is LargeInjector with this beautiful shot of the Arlbergbahn. Have a good weekend everyone. Next Weeks Contest : https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/ts21-screenshot-contest-week-6-february-2021.35420/
Lovely shot LargeInjector, I like the way it's a sweeping panoramic shot with the railway adding scale.
