The Arun Valley Line (or known to be the Mid Sussex Line) is a 30 mile long railway running between Three Bridges and Barnham. The line was opened in three stages by the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway (LB&SCR) between 1848 and 1863, creating what was then known as Mid-Sussex route to Portsmouth. More information found here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arun_Valley_Line The fleet running down this line would be the Southern Class 377 and 313’s and Thameslink Class 700’s. Service pattern for the Class 377: 1tph towards Southampton Central and Bognor Regis (splitting at Horsham) 1tph towards Portsmouth Harbour & Bognor Regis (splitting at Horsham) At Horsham, 2tph towards Bognor Regis 1tph towards Southampton Central 1tph towards Portsmouth Harbour Note: All services above start/end at London Victoria Service pattern for the Class 313: 1tph between Littlehampton and Bognor Regis 1tph between Littlehampton and Portsmouth & Southsea Service pattern for the Class 700: 2tph between Horsham and Peterborough The stations along this route: Three Bridges Crawley Ifield Faygate Littlehaven Horsham Christ Hospital Billingshurst Pulborough Amberley Littlehampton Arundel Ford Barnham In conclusion, this route may be small but has loads of services running down the Arun Valley line and with a mixture of trains to choose from and with nice scenery as well to follow.
Sounds interesting. I would definitely love this route as my Great-grandfather used to drive this route, my Mum would watch as he passed Horsham.
