I think that the patter of the rain could be slightly louder but I think it is definitely an improvement over the frankly obnoxious level of noise from TSW2's rain. The thunder is a nice touch. I look forward to it. :)

    Cheers

Amazing work! I assume this will be applicable across routes, or this tied to SEH? :)

    Great work, thank you.
For the wind, in the original, it whistles as when the wind passes between narrow spaces (door joint, window). I thought the effect is consistent but you seem to have removed it?

Great work...... Looking forward to installing this and actually wanting to drive in the rain...... I try and avoid it like the plague at present because of how loud the rain is.

I think I prefer the sound of the wind buffeting against the train rather than the whistling through the gaps noise..... It's definitely more realistic for the modern stuff. I've never sat in my car and heard the wind whistling but have heard it buffeting the car the same as I have when sat on a train in very windy weather.

It's true that modern units are pretty well soundproofed. Anyway, I'm looking forward to your new mod :)

Sounds great! On a side note South Eastern 395 drivers must go insane during a rainy shift with those wipers.

We're starting to get some really nice mods now that are giving this sim an extra edge.
Will be installing once it's up.

This is some great work! The whistling sound of the wind is so annoying that I completely stopped playing in windy weather as it sounds very weird (Same with rainy weather and the overpowering rain noise).
This mod might change that, thank you.

Anyone else thinks the new noise from the fan in the Class 395 is too loud and needs a little less volume, There is a fan switch to the left of the drives side but it does not work, Anyway thanks for all your hard work on these mods as you are making the game better for us pc users :)

Simply for the wind sound change this is a winner. The repeating wind whistle was so annoying I never turned wind on. Rain might be a bit silent now but I will check ingame for myself. Thanks for your work!

The last time I've played a long SPG service sequence with generic heavy rain sounds, my head almost blew up :)
Not because in-game ambient sounds are bad but because they are loud.
First of all - excellent job Hightower \o/ The wind blows superb.
The rain sound is a little too quiet, but - after 2-3 hours could be even too loud again :)

Installed your initial version and thought it was fine..... Finally i can drive in the rain!!!!!! Plus it was a double celebration as I finally got allocated the Trainbow for my rather damp run into St Pancras.

(I'll also try your new version too and see which version i prefer)

OK in my opinion. But it is so atmospheric! Congratulations. Big change. Thanks!
PS I like ASMR ambient channels. This storm of yours is very relaxing. Works great with the rest of the sounds in the game.

So I have tried out both versions and personally I liked the second (louder) one better. I appreciate the extra effort and thank you for this mod, wind sound is just awesome!

    Very nice mod :)

Once again, we, as the community, are fixing and enhancing things which DTG really should've got right the first time round.

Though I have much more faith in the community for things to be done right compared to DTG getting it right. I look forward to future enhancements and fixes.

I've tried both now and think i prefer the second one slightly more. I'm actually going to keep both though and maybe flick over to the original version sometimes when required.

What do you use to adjust sounds like this? And can it be used to adjust things like the volume of the horn from within the cab?
