Then make a link to the manual more clear. There's a solution to every possible issue here...

They could even render a list in game, how many units have we had that have clipboards, but have nothing on them.

It may not be super common IRL, but it would fill the cab desk out more & give a direct in-game resource.

Don't some units (including the 465) even have display code lists IRL stuck next to the PIS computer.

You can put them in the menu or that little thing (forgot what it's called) that shows you all the stops and you could just put the code there. It's not a hard solution as you seem to make it sound like it's difficult

Certainly in the days of the older PIS controllers, but since TrainFX the journey/service code is usually printed on the driver's schedule card.

Yes but those things can't be done overnight, require the developers to code a link into the console versions. Matt P has said they are working on getting the manuals into the game via hyperlink or whatever they plan to do, but says resources are being diverted due to other operational issues they are being created from the community.

My Dad works in the MTA NYC Subway and he gets a card and it has the info on the service he's running and the code to put in the PIS on the train

Which is something we have in game (primitively), in the end we don't know why systems that require code inputs are absent, it may be just because they haven't got round to it, but it would be a shame to not simulate certain items on account of lack of knowledge from users.

Like I said above, those systems took years to implement into TSC, I'd imagine its probably down to learning how to do it in UE4.

Again you can put them in the menu when in the service or in that thing that shows all the stations, (I think it's like a service info that has all the stations and load passengers etc). Your making it seem difficult when it's not and it's a good solution for those who may not have access to the manuals

OK Sorry for having an opinion about how to implement it right and create parity amongst the userbase.

It'll probably all come back to consoles, players complaining they can't click the screen on the TMS properly, or that (older) consoles just can't support it on a performance basis.

Yep, we do exist and you've got to live with us, but sorry for being a smear on your gaming experience.

Anyway back on topic.... Class 465/9....

For a simulator though, things like codes for the destination should be implemented. I get your concern about setup time and how would you put the codes in game but setup time in this route at least is plentiful. If they are not gonna do that on the 465 then to me they are cutting corners

You aren't on a simulator though, you're playing a game, and it's designed to be more user friendly than TSC. Train Sim World is a brand, doesn't mean it has to be 100% authentic to real life.

I am all in! The relatively paucity of threads now on this forum speaks volumes about how impressive that stream was. Well done, DTG!

Not knowing much about the class 465 but having enjoyed SEHS a lot and hearing the excitement from other community members as well as hearing the really good sounds implemented I will definitely be picking this one up.

It looks interesting enough, I'd want it to be compatible with Raildriver which was a semi yes to be confirmed on the stream today.

A combination of lack of accurate BR blue for TSW2 and an ageing PC says I realistically won't be buying this, however I have watched part of last night's stream and I think it looks quite good and compliments SEHS nicely so if it wasn't for the top two reasons above I probably would buy it.

I will probably buy the 465 as soon as it's released. I just hope we'll see the AI driving it as well. There were none to be seen in yesterday's stream.

It would have to be implemented by the core control team, the people who make that list work, and whilst it is very much possible to do, it's whether DTG want to put that effort in or not. Having a briefing, headcode, destination code etc at the top of that page wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibility

I think it would be a cool thing as well but it's up to dtg. In my opinion things like that should be implemented

Me too. I am not the biggest fan of Electric trains but did enjoy that one and as I only buy UK (England/Wales/N.Ireland) routes/stock I think I will get it and hopefully what Matt said about it being compatible with the RailDriver proves to be true.

They certainly seem to have a more "aggressive" sound than many electric units.

Yeah lol, when hearing it start-up from the outside I kept thinking of the old Star Trek sounds.

Metro-Cammel and ABB didn't build the motors for the 465's. The bunch that were built by BREL & ABB had Brush motors with Brush inverters but were later refurbished with Hitachi inverters although they kept their Brush motors. The others that were built by Metro-Cammel had GEC-Alsthom Motors & inverters which they still retain.

Metro Cammel/MCW do not build motors or electrical equipment.
