I love TSW2. But for me the draw distance is horrible. It's a real immersion killer for me. I mean shadows, or bits of track, trees or fences just popping in literally as I pass it just kills the experience for me at times. I think it has been discussed on streams, but is this something DTG are going to fix and make better in the future? I'm on a Playstation 4 Pro.
Do we have to optimize the game according to the available console hardware? Naaa, let's just butcher the game until it runs decently. Shadows draw distance is by far the most annoying visual thing about TSW franchise. So annoying that I always play with cloudy skies to avoid it... Pretty sad, I know
It's something I think will improve with the next round of memory optimisations that are being worked on!
Agreed. It so annoying. I was playing HST in a lovely sunny clear day and all i could concentrate on was the fences and just general stuff especially shadows popping In as I get to them. I even started saying now to see if I could say it at the moment it popped In.
Draw distance is on all platforms and not just PlayStation but I’m not sure if dtg can do much about this
Shadows kill the framerate. You can notice that even with the laughable TSW draw distance: cloudy days look always smoother than sunny ones.
Well the draw distance has nothing to do with the engine as other games with unreal has better draw distance and runs fine so I'm sure dtg can do something about it. They upgraded the engine but didn't fix draw distance still
have tsw2 on ps4 and pc. draw distance on my ps4 is awful like can see 10-12 train cars on sand patch but my pc can draw all the cars.
