Loco quality looks beautiful from the video on the last page. But I'm guessing, like the IOW, it'll probably be compressed somehow and it'll lose a lot of that quality on the release version

that is true, I did alot of the shunting services already and really enjoyed these. I guess I could also have a bad feeling with WSR since I did a service (scenario maybe?) where you had to go a long way with the class 09 between stations and as great I think it is for shunting, personally I feel it is not fun to drive for line service... Like you could not even get to the allowed speed limit, when uphill with wagons.

Or - weird thing to say - they learned from their mistakes as IOW was their very first Route DLC. Give them a chance.

At the very least rivet should’ve learned at least something from IOW, and that’s to not forget to test routes before you release them.;)

Isle of Wight had its issues, but the route itself is actually done really well. If Rivet wants to make the first Switzerland route for TSW2, I’ll be happy to deal with a few minor bugs if it means I’ll have the choice to drive the Arosa Line on TSW2 especially after I have read and have seen what it is so far. 3rd party developers can bring some fresh, innovative content and ideas to TSW2, we should try to be more optimistic especially considering this will be their 2nd route. I hope you end up liking it.

I agree, the class09 is not the best one for a drive all along the route. If you have the class 31, 20 or 33 you do these drives with the bigger machines as well, or you try the class08 that comes from NTP which has even a worse experience.

Arosa will not give you this negative experience, with one loco which is fully capable to bring you up the mountain..

It certainly looks lovely from the screenshots. I love the shot of the loco with snow on the front.

The pictures from the new article posted today look lovely. I am still careful about building up hype, but it looks way better than from what could be seen in that first video. Can't wait for the first actual stream!

    That was made early on.

The grey checkerboard is untextured material.

    ^^^^^^^ Are you sure ? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Flat mountains, no snow, grey grass, wrong gravel, no walls, no fluffy clouds.

    This can only end badly;).

The landscape is not a problem for me, I want a pure simulation but if I understand correctly we will only have 1 loco!
Where are the passenger and freight wagons that we see on the screens !!!
it's scandalous, I want a discount of 10 euro at least.

Rivet should also give passengers some warm clothes and skis. If passengers travel on this route in summer clothes in the winter, they could freeze while waiting for the train.

If they don’t give them warm clothes, there would probably be many dead bodies around at the station! Idk abt the dude in shorts, but he must have really high pain tolerance!:D

The video that rivet posted is most likely pre recorded many months back then when it was barely announced in the roadmap. Compared to the new screenshots in the latest article, this route has gone under many months of active development and we can see a huge difference in quality. So don’t mind the grass there folks, it has evolved!:D

All comments about the signalling video are to be taken out of context. That’s an order!!!

Why do people rush to judgment at the first whisper of the route? Why tear down the house before it's even been built? At least wait for a stream or a preview with some decent screenshots. I think some people are almost willing it to fail.

I mean... half of the comments here on page 7 were poking fun at the signalling video, which is made on somewhat of a training ground. We know that's not the route. Other than that, in the rest of this thread, people mostly mention distant scenery on the screenshots, which definitely could be better. The rest seems to be more or less all compliments. I get your point, the final judgement should be at the time of release build stream or the release itself, but if we point out problems now, they can still be worked on. I would prefer early feedback to people silently waiting for release every time.

One thing I've noticed is that Rivet have very carefully chosen specific teaser screenshots. They often seem to zoom into something specific, not really revealing the background scenery or anything above or behind it, such as a train.

Though you can tell, if you look carefully, that the hills and mountains look pretty bare, with just a few 2D trees dotted around it on a low resolution terrain, although this is nothing new to TSW.

Basically if you're expecting anything different or better to the way distant scenery is currently produced in TSW, you're going to be disappointed.

I don’t think Rivet is trying to “hide” anything. It looks like all they are trying to do is take interesting screen shots for the preview. Plenty of mountains and background scenery can be seen in these shots for instance. Either way I don’t think people are expecting some drastic change the how the mountains look, but more interested in how Rivet can tie them into the rest of the route and by the look of it, it’s going to turn out to be a great TSW2 route.

The route is still in production, meaning that rivet still has time to fix things and polish the route before it releases. Until it releases, we still cannot judge the way that scenery looks.:)

I did the trail on TS last night and it was already very beautiful.
If Rivet gives us at least the same with the texture quality of TSW2 I will be more than happy to buy it.
For the distant mountains, yes it's not very beautiful but quite often we drive in cabin view and suddenly we only see a small part of the scenery.
On the MSB it's not much better or worse so we'll do with that.

I know for a fact that TSW2 won't be much better for distant mountains, but I have to admit that the road screens really make you want it.

Anyway I will take this route, I take everything that comes out on TSW2 and a Swiss route is not refused especially if it is Rivet who does it.

PS: For the messages above it is of course to be taken at the 1st degree.
We still have the right to laugh a bit, and everyone doubts that the grass will never be gray !!!

I liked the signalling demo. Hopefully there will be a demo on how they did snow in winter. Some days there should be at least 2m snow at the sides of the tracks. It would be awesome if that is modeled ...

It looks good in routebuilding video, but I wonder if there is some sort of limitation preventing the amount of trees, especially in the distance? Compared to real life, the trees should be way more denser in the distance. I hope they can do something about this.

It’s looking very good. I like these videos Rivet do. They only scratch the surface of how they build the routes and trains but it is very interesting to see anything in progress. The amount of work that goes into making this stuff is mind blowing. Someone will be along to tell us what’s wrong with the scenery in the clip soon enough, no doubt.

Amazing walk through, did everyone catch the Rivet Games ads on the coach bulkheads and the RbH route maps on the window tables?

Very nice! You can open windows in coaches. I don't think that's been done yet on any coach present in the game. It would be cool if there were actually bicycles in the bicycle wagon! Still, eagerly awaiting this one!

Rivet also did opening passenger windows for the 483 in Isle of Wight route. It really does look fantastic this. It gets better with every preview they release.
