What's a DMCO that's referenced in the new patch notes? More detail has been added as per requested by Southeastern Rail. But I have no idea what a DMCO is.
I guess it stands for Driving Motor Composite Open but not definitely sure on that. All items of rolling stock have various codes, some of the top of my head include: D- Driving (Wherever there’s a cab) M-Motor E-Engine P-Pantograph F-First S-Standard C-Composite (First and Standard class) T- Trailer (non motoried) O- Open plan seating
It would nice if DTG didn't abbreviate things in patch notes as not all of us have in depth knowledge of trains and are more casual gamers.
As it looks like it was relating to changes requested by the train operating company themselves the inclusion in the patch notes was talking directly to them and therefore used industry language for what was changed.
To be fair, it takes a matter of seconds to find out what the abbreviation means on your favourite search engine. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_coach_designations
Hi Sheldon1000, We tend to automatically use the terminology that our players, as knowledgeable railfans, tend to know without thinking. However, your feedback is an important reminder that not everyone has that knowledge and could use a helping hand with rail terminology and jargon. We'll certainly take that feedback on board and give this some thought when we do patch notes in future. Best, Steve
