We STILL have not received an answer as to whether the T&C limit actual candidates to Brits and Germans or not. Are we Yanks etc wasting our time here?
GreatWestern Express Class 43 (HST 16 cars) I have edited to add the shot photoshopped with added lens flare and contrast and brightness enhancements
Let's try it another way- all y'all who have won this screenshot contest at one time or another: are any of you a resident of somewhere other than the UK or Germany? Because the complete silence from Nat, who has to have read these posts, gives me a queasy feeling. Almost as if all submissions from non-British, non-German participants are automatically disqualified, but the mods don't want to admit it.
I am going to create a post in the tech reports section as I think that is the section they read the most
Route: Sand Patch Train: AC4400CW in YN3b (lead) and YN2 (trail) Service: GO89 - Grain - Chicago to Burnswick
The same rules apply for the TS2021 screenshot contests, and I won that plenty of times last year, I think that rule is either a typo or doesn't apply to screenshot contests. (Because why would taking a pic from you game be country specific?)
Legally it doesn't make a great deal of sense: I understand why the term is in the T&C as applied to contests for valuable prizes. Different countries do have different laws regulating those, and so it makes sense that it would apply to, say, the livery design contests, for which the winner got a free DLC. But here? No prize- I doubt even the most steely-eyed regulator would find that the warm fuzzy glow of seeing one's pic as a splash screen has negotiable cash value. STILL: the announcement each week says the T&C apply, and the T&C include that provision. So in any event, I would appreciate a clear pronouncement from DTG before I invest much more time hunting for photo ops.
