Hello, So I downloaded a repaint and the locomotive name is wrong in the menu. How could I change that? It's the menu where you select locomotives.
As not every loco is the same you will have to tell us which one you are taking about Sometimes you change a letter in the number fly out The information is usually in the Readme that comes with the loco
It's a SD40-2 Kuju the repaint is from Railworks america an ATSF repaint. Currently the name is "SD40-2 Black" Which I would like it to be EMD SD40-2 ATSF. CabView: And Engine folder:
In the bin file near the top is the engine display name <cEngineBlueprint> <Name d:type="cDeltaString">SD40-2 Black</Name> <BrowseInformation> <iRailVehicleBlueprint-cBrowseRVInformation> <DisplayName> <Localisation-cUserLocalisedString> <English d:type="cDeltaString">SD40-2 Black</English> Change the one I have highlighted
I have changed the name and the correct name shows up in the route and consist editor, but not the quick drive menu one. I'm really confused the name that that's in the quick drive menu isn't even present in the .bin file at all.
The Quick Drive consist is defined on a specific quick drive Blueprint which you'll find in a folder called PreLoad somewhere within those folders
I did find it and there are a bunch of bin files of consists. I tried changing the name of the loco inside one of the bin file. And it didn't seem to work
It's a repaint you've downloaded, so the PreLoad consist for it won't be inside the .ap file, that's what's delivered from Steam.
Yes there is, it is impossible for there to be a quickdrove consist for it without there being a corresponding Blueprint file describing it - the difficulty you're having is locating it. Do you have a link to the reskin
I actually want to change the Donners pass Dash9 name from GE C44-9W to GE C44-9W Southern Pacfic. As well. So maybe it will be easier to just change the name of that locomotive?
No, it's not a problem, but it means it isn't available in Quick drive unless you create your own quick drive consist.
If you made it in the scenario editor and saved it there it's in a file called ConsistTemplates that is located on your Railworks/Content folder I believe.
