How do you add external fonts logos etc? in a different program like photoshop? or can we add layers, fonts to the in-game editor?
You can’t. Any fonts you see used other than the standard one included are made up from different shapes a layer per shape.
Cheers for that.... I’m away from the PC at present but I’ll check those numbers in comparison to what I used. It does look a little too blue though to me and says it’s BS Blue rather than BR Blue. BR Blue is a slightly different shade and this site shows an example that seems pretty much spot on to my eyes..... https://paintman.co.uk/shop/british-rail-blue-used-from-1965/ The more I’ve seen it since completion and the more images I’ve seen online the more I’m happy with it though.
Interesting. I used that as it looked right on 66789 which seems a bit brighter anyway. You might want to darken it a bit to make it more similar to actual older BR diesels.
that does look quite close. The best way to go is to do a Google for “preserved br blue” which gives you plenty of modern digital images to work with rather than 30-odd year old scans of film or slide images.
I found a few that make it look different again though..... And more like the colour I posted earlier..... The joys of BR Blue.
Ultimately there is never One True Shade. Lighting alone makes a huge difference- just look at any photograph, and compare the side in sun to the face in shade - and then there are inevitably the effects of fading and dirt. Try using photos to nail down US Navy Haze Gray! Drive you bonkers, that will.....
Can we upload videos? If so I can show a quick breakdown on how to paint that tcdd unit. It actually wasn't too hard to make. I bet you could make it pretty quickly!
All right, here it is; of course I can make changes if you like. I think I may have made the light cream color too light; it's hard to get a good impression from photos, but I can make it more yellow if that's closer. For now it has the number DE 24 000, but I can make that any number you like, if there is a particular locomotive you want represented.
woa it looks beatiful. numbers are ok, they can stay as they are. If i am not making trouble to you, may i ask blue as well? where can i donwload it? thank you very very much
Artist's impression of rolling stock used on direct high-speed service between Brussels and Copenhagen.
When I select a livery at the beginning of the time table, let's say there are two locomotives attached to the train, first one is my selected livery but second one is completely irrevelant loco. Can I make it use the livery that i want?
No only the front loco is what you choose. All other locos are randomly selected from the standard and custom liveries available
And here it is, the Surprise Bonus Loco included with the CSX Fallen Flag pack! Yes, it was possible in 300 layers! This one requires some explanation, because it's a bit of a fiction. By the time of the CSX merger, there was only one former Western Maryland locomotive still in its Wild Mary livery; all the rest had been repainted as Chessies. And No. 6573 wasn't a GP38. But it was a GP40... which was very, very similar. Almost identical really: same frame, same body, same cab, same trucks, same everything, except for the turbocharged E3 version of the 645 prime mover, meaning a different arrangement of fans on the roof. But otherwise? Pretty much the same. So I figured I would do a tribute to No. 6573, which proudly wore a plaque for much of its Chessie time and all of its CSX service: "The Last WESTERN MARYLAND Locomotive." And which went down with colors flying- she was never repainted, because in 1991 she suffered an electrical fire and sat derelict for several years at the Barr Yard near Chicago, until she was finally scrapped- taking the Wild Mary Circus livery to the grave.
GB Railfreight re-liveried 66789 in BR Large Logo in 2018 in celebration of the 70th anniversary of British Rail
Can someone paint the Diesel Legends coaches like the german IC-Coaches? I don't own them, but i'd love to see that. Maybe someone feels inspired to do so
Interestingly, WM's red and white "Circus" livery was extremely short-lived. It was only introduced in the summer of 1969, a year after the C&O takeover, and was supplanted by Chessie's corporate scheme in 1973.
Screenshot contest. hey wait since this IS technically my railroad can't I give dovetail permission to use the logos and stuff? (I know I can't but IF I had a copyright on them I totally would)
