Just interested to know how many people still use TSW. I love some of the routes on TSW and there are no dedicated routes to TSW2 which have made me take the plunge but how many others are the same?
I prefer playing TSW 2 since I can still continue to use the routes and locos I brought in the previous game. I won’t be missing NEC & it’s DLC loco.
I keep TSW1 installed for NEC, Sand Patch Grade V1 & GP40-2 but tbh I do not think it will last too much longer on my HDD
Uninstalled tsw the moment that preserved collection was done... In between I remember that I wanted to compare HRR on both games, and after playing a lot of TSW2, everything just looked... Weird on TSW. Guess I just liked the overall visuals of the changes made by TSW2. That being said, it is a big bummer, that sounds of preserved items are still an issue. But then again, as soon as these routes get improvements and features like long Island is about to (and that includes the sound fixes), I see no reason at all to play the older game.
I think until we see an Amtrak route in TSW2, many will keep TSW1 around just for NEC. Despite it's issues, I still think its a pretty decent route
Fully TSW2, have no intentions of playing TSW again anytime soon. I have NEC. but was never a big fan of it, and I think TS Classic's NEC New Haven is superior, so I'm good leaving that behind. The GP40-2 was fine, but it isn't meaningfully different from the GP38-2, so again I don't see the worth in keeping it.
Since I had TSW2020, not the original release, I never had NEC so that was never a factor. Besides, that was on XBox and I find I much prefer keyboard input. Also, no mods.
Since Tsw2 is over 200gb now I’ve never gone back to the early version. That said I do love Amtrak. It’s the only thing I miss.
I keep TSW for NEC, but did not play it since TSW2 is there. Not missing the NEC passenger services very much, but I like the freight services.
Thanks to all who voted. Interesting results, must say I wasn't expecting all but 2 people to be using TSW2. I'm sure I will get it one day but I think the unit dominated modern routes has put me off so far. I have probably spent more time on Trans Pennine on TSW than any other route on any simulator, I think it is great visually. There are flaws but it seems there are in TSW2 too. Now if accurate wheelslip was added to the preserved collection routes the thought of a 40 slipping its way up Miles Platting sounds quite appealing......
Also Imagine the people who didn't switch probably aren't the people browsing the forums. They aren't gonna be to interested in hearing new content for a game they don't play after all.
One works & one doesn't!!! Has something changed recently with Train Sim world2? I've tried to play that game four times in the last two days only for it to freeze within two minutes of starting Never had any problems prior to this. Train Sim world 2020 plays perfectly. Anyone any ideas!
Did you install any mods recently? I experienced this problem and it turned you that a mod caused the issue (forgot which one).
Verify your game files in Steam, and check you have the latest video card driver. Oh and try renaming your ini files and let TSW recreate them from new.
Yeah guess so. That said TSW was meant to make TS2021 as it is now obsolete but that is still going strong.
