Unable To Enter Class 40

I am on a TT scenario but I have had to get out and back in again but on trying to get back in the cab I found out there is no way to climb the steps. I tried pressing [E] but nothing happens and there is no key reminder showing. How do you get in the cab of the class 40?

Try Ctrl+0, it teleports you back into the driver's seat no matter where you are.

But how do you get in to one off-timetabe?

 

Walk right up to the cab steps and look at them. Hunt around, the prompt should appear.

 

There are some trains where the prompt to enter the cab doesn’t appear because of a bug. I’m not sure if the Class 40 is one of those. If it works on some doors but not others then its likely to be a bug. I believe the Class 45 has an issue where you can’t get back in because the prompt to enter the cab never appears, not sure with the 40.

 

This happened to me once. I had to close the cab door from the outside, then reopen it. Then the "climb steps" prompt reappeared.
Not sure if it was a one time thing or if that will always work since it only happened to me once.
