Welcome back to the Train Simulator Screenshot Contest!

This week's theme is: Track infrastructure

You can vote for next week's theme in the poll attached to this thread. What is your choice?

Follow us on Instagram (instagram.com/trainsim) to see your screenshots featured on our feed!

    How does it work?

You can submit your screenshot to the thread, and every Friday we will choose which screenshots will go to the loading screens. Shortly after, we will open a new thread and announce the winners. Each week has its own theme which is voted for by the community.

    Competition Rules:
    • Limit is 2 screenshots per person; 1 screenshot per post.
    • Include in your post the route the screenshot was taken on as well as the name of the train (if applicable).
    • Screenshots must be in a 16:9 resolution, at least 1920x1080 pixels.
    • Screenshots must fit the theme of the week, as stated at the beginning of this post.
    • In order to qualify for the competition, screenshots must be taken from products published by Dovetail Games that are currently on sale.
    Other Rules:

    • Official content only. Please make sure anything that is not available on the Steam Store or Dovetail Store is not shown in the screenshot. - This means no reshade, repaint mods, track upgrades or workshop routes.
    • Your entry may be disqualified if it is deemed to not follow these rules. Please limit chat to only when absolutely necessary.
    • Competition closes at mid-day Friday (UK time). The winner will be chosen every Friday.
    • Winner's Prize: The winning screenshot will appear in the game as a loading screen for 1 week!
(Please Note since the new update which changes loading times we have decided to change it to 1 week)

    T&C:
    • Please refer the terms and conditions for this competition here:
    https://dovetailgames.com/competition-terms-and-conditions/
    • Note that by submitting an entry to this contest, you are consenting to us using your screenshot as a loading screen and showing it on our social media channels (such as Instagram)

So out of curiosity, what is defined as track infrastructure? Is it things like tunnels and bridges? Or is it more on the line of roundhouse, coaling towers and signals?

Jamie, can "Green Signals" also incorporate semaphores, or is it to be taken literally, as ofr colour lights only?

I don't know if bridges count as track infastructure but here's my shot:

Use the Media menu. Follow the steps. Once your screenshot is uploaded click on it to get the Share This Media options. Copy the url text in the Share image box. In your new reply on this page click the image icon and then paste in the url text. Write what you want to say and then Post Reply. It seems quite a lot at first but after a few tries you'll find it straightforward.

Over to the left is the 1GW Rugeley B power station. Providing the power for the railway you could say it is the ultimate track infrastructure!

How did you get the track to not have the very dark ballast up the middle, which is typical of this route?

I would imagine it is just the very low angle of the shot, I have had a quick check and if you look down on the track from higher up it does appear to have a darker line down the middle. I also have Ambient Light Intensity up quite high which does lighten the scene quite a bit.

Train 44A departs Kitauchi station during its morning run, the station's unique design was to avoid starting steam trains on a grade, in 2007, the station was rebuilt and the old platforms and reverse siding was abandoned.

I see what you mean with your comparison shots, the colouring & texture of the whole image is completely different.
I just loaded the AC from GC scenario & went for it, I shall have to delve further. I do have everything maxed out in the graphics settings if that makes a difference?

EDIT: Sorry my bad, just realised the AP track enhancement I used to use although unticked in the editor still shows up on the route. I never spotted it till you pointed it out. Thanks for the heads up..
I will edit my post accordingly.
