Was everyone impressed with tonight's first look at the soon to be released Arosa Linie?

I thought the game had character and the loco looks awesome, a few niggles, but hopefully this will be resolved before the release date on Thursday 25th march 2021.

    What are your thoughts guys?

Day 1 purchase for me from what I've seen. I think Rivet did very well with the technical limitations of the TSW engine. To get close to real life on this we'd all need to own 2 grand spec PC settups as a minimum spec.

It's not for me, I was withholding full judgement until after the stream. I also didn't find Jamie and Jasper to be the best presenters either to be really honest. Didn't inspire me to really want to try the route

To be fair to Jaime and Jasper it wasn't the best stream with everyone complaining of freezing stuttering and how bad the route was because there are no fish in the river or other such nonsense!
I think I'll reserve judgement fully till I see it on console but my initial thoughts are it looks great in the snow (probably the ideal way to play it), the loco itself is very good looking.
I still fail to see how off the rails will work with a 3ft3 gauge and everything else being 4ft8 even after Jasper confirmed he had done it?

Yes, I agree there was a lot of negativity on the chat which probably didn't help either of them! I like the route personally and looks fun and at a steady pace too. Its not going to be real life perfect, that's never going to happen! I'll wait and see next week when the finished piece is completed.

Absolutely agree with that. The stream was silky smooth on YouTube and the FPS counter was proof even if it wasn’t.
The shrieking and spamming in the chat caused Jamie to reset it which I think threw the stream off course a bit.

As for off the rails, in TS2020 you can put other engines on tracks of different gauges and they work as normal. They just float along and look stupid.

The scenery was exactly what I expected and it’s okay, the train is good enough to distract from that.

The lack of any interest in the timetable is very disappointing however and it has ruined it a little bit for me. Why have the wagons and not use them. There didn’t even seem to be depot runs. The line felt busy at least which was good with lots of trains passing- alas they are all identical.

I’d rather have an interesting timetable than be able to walk around a lake or walk a few steps into the engine room personally.

It's bizarre because I was watching on Youtube and it was choppy for me. I wasn't looking at chat, I rarely do because it's either nonsense or its the mods constantly deleting messages, I think it was the presentation I didn't like. For me it was quite frankly boring. The wife looked up and said blimey where did they get these two from.
Watch the Clinchfield presentation shortly and you will see a night and day difference.

I was watching via YouTube on my PS4 and even opened my phone and put it on when there were complaints and it was just fine on both. I'll admit the presentation wasn't the best but to be honest that's what happens when you get, and this with the upmost respect to both, nerds to do it! Sam or Matt would have been perhaps a better choice but hey it is was is. I think Jaime to his credit does show a passion, it just needs polishing.
And at the end of the day ask yourself this- Would you do a better job? The spotlights on you, you've an audience albeit virtual, and you've got to keep them entertained for the 1 1/2 hours. Could you stand in front of a few hundred and keep their their attention for that length of time. Trust me, it's bloody hard and I give anyone who tries credit for doing so.

Edit: I'm watching said Clinchfield stream. You're correct, it is night and day. Stuttering nightmare!!!

I watched a couple of minutes of Clinchfied, I jumped in around ten past eight. Probably less than a couple of minutes I expect and I thought, no sod this I will watch it after they have finished from the recording and then hopefully it won't stuttering.

Yeh I get that. We were there for the details and we didn’t get much at all. I’d rather look at the timetable and scenario planner options than walk round the lake.

I feel they did their best. It is hard to keep a stream rolling particularly when it’s giving you technical problems.

Why is the off the rails such a big deal for everyone. That mode ignores any physical properties, you can run electric trains on diesel roads and an ac4400 through London underground. So when you put a electrostarr on arosa it's wheels will not fit the rails but Stil follow it, or the Ge 4/4 on long Island will not stand on both rails but will still follow the rails anyway?
