For speed limits how do you know when your train is fully past the board, so it is now in operation? Thanks.
On the 66 there is a train length button, press it at the sign/start of a junction, then it beeps when the end of the train passes the speed limit board or the end of a junction,
You make a judgement on when you're past, with a lot of shorter passenger trains it isn't too tricky. If in doubt wait a kittle longer till you're sure - you learn it as you get familiar with each route.
Sorry no don't know about passenger, with a short unit it won't be too hard, something longer like a 395 or HST set I suppose it's down to experience, unless the 395 has a similar feature to the 66 loco??
There are milepost signs along the route, placed every quarter of a mile (this may vary depend on line and region) so if necessary you can use those to keep track of the distance traveled.
Similarly in the US, except every 1/10th mile, and in Germany every 200 meters. (If you need to know how long your train is, it's given in the Pause screen)
I count about 6 seconds a unit at 10 mph.... So 3 secs a unit for 20mph, 2 secs a unit for 30mph 1 sec a unit at 60mph It has its flaws but it generally pretty close.....
