I'm surprised this wasn't included in the recent update notes, but freight has been added to the Diesel Legends of the Great Western timetable. These consist of 9 services, 8 full-line runs (4 in each direction) plus one shunting service involving the class 08:

    Eastbound:

All of these services use the TEA tanker wagon from the BR Heavy Freight Pack and should bring a bit more traffic to the timetable.

Thanks, was wondering why that wasn’t in the release notes being as it was said it was done. I assumed it wasn’t there. That’ll keep me busy for a couple of hours tonight.

Although I think they occasionally got as far as Oxford on freight trains, I don't remember them getting to Reading. A class 40 on the GW mainline east of Reading would be very rare ... but so would a class 45 on a passenger train!

They shouldn’t have scrapped broad gauge.
These problems would never have arisen.

So would a class 101 before 1987 (especially in blue/grey) but that hasn't stopped them!

The sight of a class 52 with headcode showing with a rake of mark 2's and a BG being passed by a class 45 with plated over head code panels whilst overtaking a four car blue and grey class 101 is the stuff of legends!

Freight services was one of the reasons I wanted to pick this pack up. Glad to see some of the bigger problems being addressed promptly. Even happier we have these freight services. Thank you for the info!

Glad these have been added. Wish there were a few more shunting services in Acton yard- the passing traffic is busy and fun to watch.
