I've tried the above service on Rhein Ruhr Osten using the 185.2 from MSB. Season was set to summer with some rain and wind.

Has anyone else tried this under those conditions? I found it impossible to complete for the simple fact that I couldn't get up the hill between Hagen and Eneppetal, I hit the second gradient at 62km/h (didn't record how fast I hit the first grade) on 81% throttle (reduced to 75% to prevent wheelslip), no brakes and AFB, PZB and Sifa all on. I slowed to a stop before reaching the summit - increasing power resulted in wheelslip. Am I doing something wrong?

I cheat and accelerate down the slope from the station.
No real penalties for overspeed other a few missing action points
Otherwise you never make it to the top.

    Sweet little route though.

I can only finish those services when leaving 4 wagons behind right from the start. The loco is too weak for the weight it seems.

    Edit: Typo

I’ve reported a bug where at full throttle you get wheel slipping on the German locos between certain higher speeds, whatever the conditions, so in the wet that is probably exacerbated. The slipping always occurs in the same speed range in dry conditions, whatever you are pulling (heavy train or light loco) often when you need full power. There are also plenty of services on MSB where the trains can’t make it up the ramp. There are definite traction/adhesion issues with these locos.

MSB trains are being looked at currently, so maybe the situation will improve.

If you have a DB DR 155 locomotive, it has enough power to climb uphill with tank cars.

FWIW I’m more convinced than ever that wheelslip occurs in an entirely constructed manner and is not dynamic in any way. Almost all locos and units slip under the exact same conditions all the time. Once you achieve a certain speed (always the same) the slipping stops.

It’s good to see it in the game but I would have thought simugraph would have been capable of more.

I agree with JetWash, adhesion is a rather simplified feature, not the advanced physics simulation I was presented as.

Thanks for the replies, everyone :) It did feel to me like the service should be double-headed now there's adhesion.

Thanks. I shall re-install RSN and have another crack at it - I do like the 155 :)

I watched a bit of the roadmap stream and it appears a fix for this is in the pipeline.

That service was designed for the MRCE 185.5. I know, its performance ought to be identical to the Railion/DB 185.2-- but have you tried it?

Use the 155 and crank the traction dial up, it will pull the load up the bank easily and keep accelerating too.

Yeah just tried that now. Stuck to maximum allowed speeds out of Hagen 40-70-150. Got to 42kph then gradually lost it towards Ennepetal. Also tried applying some sand. Screenshot (395).png

I finally found the solution to finish this scenario, I left some wagons behind me in Hagen!

What is the weight of the train? I would say it might be doable with DB BR187 from Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen or DB BR182 from Rapid Transit

If only there was a way to drain a few so we could complete with a full consist.

Is it still not completable? I thought they released a fix for it that involved adding an extra loco?

I know they did it for MSB but thought they did it for this too.

I have the latest updates in my game and I didn't find any other solution than leaving part of the train in Hagen. Full consist is 1878 tons.

Adding a double header for these services would be great, definetely as the route currently only has double headed traind in one scenario. I've listed this issue and that solution in my Rhein Ruhr Osten preserved collection upgrade wishlist.

It's a shame there's no way of truly comoleting this service at this time, here's to hoping the preservation crew can do something about it.

Is it not completable even in dry weather?

I haven't tried it, but the 155 should be able to do it.
