I would like to propose for the route from Gravesend to London Charing Cross to be built. To start off with, this route could be independent to SEHS, but still work off the same timetables as it, and when route extensions have been figured out how to do, both routes could be joint up which would allow a through service. Overview of the line: Route map: As you can see, the route provides plenty of diversity in terms of which route you can take to and from Charing Cross. If the route(s) are fully modelled, this would provide three different routes to drive over. I have highlighted the three individual routes to make it easier to distinguish, as well as removing any other lines so it’s less cluttered. Route length: A very rough working out which includes all three lines adds up to a total of 55 miles* *Not 100% accurate. You can give or take a few miles to that figure Journey time: London Charing Cross to Dartford via Bexleyheath: 50 mins/17 miles London Charing Cross to Dartford via Woolwich Arsenal: 50 mins/18 miles London Charing Cross to Gravesend via Sidcup : 65 mins/23 miles Rolling Stock opportunities: Class 376 for London Charing Cross to Dartford Class 375 (sub-variant TBA) for London Charing Cross to Gravesend Class 465 (sub-variant TBA) for London Charing Cross to Gravesend Providing DTG uses the same variant of Classes 375 and 465 we already have in TSW, this means that they’ll only have to model one new train, which is the Class 376. Please let me know your thoughts, recommendations and feedback. Thanks.
DTG definitely should experiment with extensions that don't just make A to B longer and longer. Branches and alternative routes would definitely be way more helpful adding variety and the much-needed traffic to routes. So the idea of SEHS having a new triple branch going to London is definitely very exciting.
Agreed, once they get the hand of route extensions, they should extend existing routes, it would add more services and give the players more to do on the line, especially if there’s branches in question.
Don’t forget the Class 466 Networker as well. Besides, if it would also be cool, if SEHS included the Chatham Mainline to London Victoria too.
Well, I though it would nice to London Victoria for the Chatham Mainline. Also, for the Southeastern Mainline as another add on as a route, I though it could go from London Charring Cross/Cannon Street to as far as Tonbridge.
Great suggestion! I'd love to see the "Dartford Metro" lines in tsw! I think it would only be complete with London Canon Street as well, and the icing on the cake would be London Blackfriars (maybe an 8 car 700 dlc?)
I think that this route should also have a small branch to Cannon St from London Bridge. This will allow for more services, such as Cannon St loop. I would love to see a class 700 on this route, operating Rainham to Luton services (only as far as London Bridge or Blackfriars).
As would I and it would be the only train that runs on both routes, giving a reason to connect them right through. A 700 could also be an added layer for the services on SEHS. The route also works standalone without extensions, so I think people would expect two trains as seems to be standard with most DTG add-ons. Personally, I'd like to see a 700 and 376 with the ability to use the 465/9 on these routes as well. Alternately, a 465/0, /1 or /2 with a 376 and the 700 as dlc, again with the ability to use the 465/9. Edit: this would require a fairly substantial rework of the timetable unfortunately...
I do like the idea since the services for the 375/465 are too short in my opinion and 55 miles seems like something dtg could do. Someone else asked for a extension to London Charing Cross. 23 miles alone just for services to London Charing Cross also seems doable. I personally didn't get the 465 due to how short the current route is
