Why do they even care about releasing this route in the rest of the world when we do not get markings?

It is so stupid to release and to pay full price when it is not complete.

They could just release it in USA.

Well they're legally not allowed to sell it internationally with markings, so wouldn't it be better to be able to have workshop scenarios and other third party content requiring this route available for everyone?

Plus, all you have to do is wait until a free 3rd party branding patch is released that will give international people markings.

Previously I mean to recall it was possible to get someone in the USA to buy the "correct" version for you via Steam's gifting system, is this no longer possible?

Then I, a TS user from the UK, would miss out on the opportunity to drive another bunch of trains across parts of the North American continent. I guess I'm being selfish! HOWEVER, if the USA is such a great and amazing country (I happen to believe it is, without getting into politics! Amazing countryside, great people, barring one or two a*holes, but that's humans for you) then why should the simulation experience be denied to anyone who is not an American citizen? I think it's a good thing that by having an unnamed paint scheme on appropriate locomotives & stock the rest of the world gets to enjoy the ROUTES. In addition, DTG may well pocket a few more pounds profit by selling to other countries. DTG doesn't benefit by US dollars alone.... ;)

Less than a day, Trurail has made a fix for the US version with apparently works with the worldwide version as well.

Branding is cruel to trains! The temperatures they endure to have that logo imprinted on them, brings a tear to the eye.

You have to be kidding. As a Canadian, your opinion is an insult. Milepost Simulations wants to have its products available worldwide. You want to complain about incomplete products? Our product is incomplete. I think all products should be free of branding and that branding patches should be free. Yes, I said it. That way, companies aren't able to say you made money on their branding. Makes life a lot easier. AP already got burned with this (I understand by Virgin of all companies) and now do exactly that, and what I suggest would make Marias Pass and BNSF trains available for everyone. But yet DTG refuses to do it. The easiest money they would ever make.

Or it was done already on Day 1. I saw a later post above about that, and it was posted in Discord.

It used to be. It can't be done now. But even if you could buy someone the US version today, this is what you'd get:

All I can say to that:

How can I really be sure that it is working after looking on the picture above saying "Missing"?

Trurail is a pretty good 3rd Party studio, I would take their word for it.

Additionally, it's not as if you're paying money to install this patch, at the most it may take up maybe, 50MB of hard drive space, which can easily be gained back by tossing it in the trash if it doesn't work. The only way you can be truly sure is if you try it.

Branding patches has been going on for years, not only for american content, they'll have a hard time shutting modders down.

Most of the companies don't care about their logo's being distributed by TruRail and the like. In part because they're so small that their legal departments probably don't even know they exist. And even if they do It's not worth it when it's on a small corner of the internet, any damages caused are way smaller than any sort of action would cost, either financially, or in public good will. If you're overly protective like Disney you get some really bad PR from time to time, because you end up doing things like stopping someone from putting Winnie the Pooh on their child's grave.

    You feeling is wrong.
Companies object to people making money out of their property.
If you give something away for free they don't bother.

The older Class 390 Pendolino which was released in 2012 in three liveries none of which were Virgin
    https://store.steampowered.com/app/208343/Train_Simulator_Class_390_EMU_AddOn/
So somebody did a reskin and it is still available after 9 years

The Chicago Racetrack Route came out with a separate Branding Pack for the BNSF and Metra locos/stock and is still available

Why should this Arizona Divide route be any different?

The thing is. When something is given away FOR FREE, then you don't need to take anyone's word for it. Just go and grab it yourself. I respectfully suggest that if your time is too precious to get the patch then perhaps it's too precious to play a computer game about trains.

Unless the company happens to be Games Workshop! ;) Fortunately they're not involved in simulated trains... until someone decides to try and upload a science fiction train from the Warhammer universe © :)

To be clear, the "this" is specifically related to Raton Pass. No, modders cannot be stopped. I meant that the newest way for adding the logo to the train might be attempted to be patched. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I had to look them up. They do figurines. Yeah, that would be an issue.

Raton's been out for two or three years at this point, they're not gonna bother updating at this point. Also the post you initially replied to is talking about the Hi-Line, not Raton. So while it probably seemed clear to you it didn't seem like you were taking about Raton in that post to other peoples prospective.

It's a shame though, Some routes like Stevens Pass, Marias Pass and Tehachapi Pass aren't available to those outside the US. However, there is some content on the workshop, or other sites that requires those routes. Why not just release them unbranded?

Umm, there is no Tehachapi Pass for TS2021 on Steam.....

You are probably thinking of Cajon Pass.

Yes, Cajon Pass is not available outside of the USA. If anyone wants Raton Pass branding go to Railworks America's site.

I'm not expert on US stuff, but do the blue and yellow Santa Fe liveries in this pack look a bit off colour wise? The blue doesn't look dark enough and the yellow looks a touch too green (and bright) to me. What are people's feelings?

I suppose they would have to not simply unbrand and put in a unique location as new DLC, but revise the DLC to have unbranded locos and block the livery for the non-US customers. They could always seek advice from Milepost on this since it's now been done several times or even look at their products themselves perhaps. And then branding can be a separate skin over top anyway off-site, and DTG is free of problems for international use if that occurs because they did not release that and can prove it's not in their international pack.

I'm also still pushing for Canada to have it opened up, but that's up to BNSF, not DTG. We'll see if it happens. If they still say no, then DTG will have to decide whether unbranding makes sense as a development project. Given the number of Workshop routes using Marias and Stevens, it's a great project in my view, but that is not our call, it's theirs. I know that, if Canada gets it, I'll be stocking up at the first sale involved because I know those go on sale for a few bucks each. EThe first-ever DLC, at stub 24012, came with the original Railworks game and is pretty much the only unique content I'm missing from any Railworks release at this time.

Using 7-Zip just extract it into your railworks folder. Winzip won't open it as it is in the rar file format. You can get 7-Zip here. Download (7-zip.org)

Apparently my IP is blacklisted because I am "in a bad neighborhood" and the swiss blacklisters want me to pay a huge amount of francs to reach the whitelist, so I can't register in railworks america :(.
Anyone knows how can I contact board administrators about this?

I did a quick comparison with DTM's SD45-2, and a repaint of the U36C by Trurail Simulations, and the Blue is defiantly too bright, not sure about the green in the yellow though....
    Screenshot_Arizona Divide_35.02809--110.71325_12-02-38.jpg

Also the comparison shows that the SD40-2 is way too big, being bigger than DTM's SD45-2 (SD40-2 and SD45-2s shared the same frame) as well as Searchlight Simulations SD40-2's

DTG has updated the missing textures so now for us outside the USA the textures patch doesn't work. To get it to work you need to extract the texture folder out of the System.AP file and have it in the main Arizona Divide directory.

To be clear for international customers, the texture patch still works for those buyers? I have not bought the route as yet, so I can't check.
