Questions for the stream - all about the Scenario Planner and possible future features (hope this is in time...)
    1. Would it be possible for the Scenarios to have a "scenario start time" parameter which is before the "player service" starts? I'm thinking maybe a 10 minute start to allow other trains to start while I'm wandering around the platform/ faffing about trying find the master key etc.
    2. Would it be possible to download and upload scenarios as external files?
    3. If (2) is a yes... could the scenarios be in human readable format (eg. XML or something text file-based) to allow people to create scenarios more easily and upload them? I get that there is a validation component which you'd need to add there.

Question for stream: It turned today's update already has some new bugs in it (we can't rebind door controls, Baby Bullet liveries cannot be used). Will that be a fast fix or shall we expect to wait for quite some time?

As an English-speaking user of QWERTZ, the mapping of the Y button is a little confusing and wish I could change it to Z. Hopefully this will be ameliorated but I have little hope that this is going to be high on their priority list now that it's out the door.

    Cheers

It’s too bad there’s still no SPG fixes. It’s pretty much unplayable for me ever since December-ish. I think they should fix the stuff they already made before starting new projects.

I meant the Br 101 - and the Br182 that is on Hamburg-Lübeck.
But while we are at it, the Br 112 as well. I believe the 3 locos are actually fitted with LZB.

Very happy to see the list of bug fixes in the “Upcoming” section as having a specific team going back to some of the preserved collection routes is a very smart move by DTG. I’m glad to see such a turn around from DTG and the community that’s been here since the early days of TSW surely appreciate it.

With what you said about HMA, if you had a PS5/ xbox series, could you in theory turn all the layers on in the options thing, could you put that in as an option and then say "If you are on an older console, BE WARNED, it may fall over and die" that would be a great way to let them all in, but also allowing people to use some of them if they do not have a new one

Correct, LZB is not installed on that line. However, it wouldn't be bad to future proof the 112 (and 101, for that matter) by including LZB for use on other routes where it is installed (like SKA and HMA).

Are the core updates going to include fixes to the save/load game integrity, specifically the loss of the timetable information and AI trains/signalling going into limbo?

Why do you think the 3 new locomotives will not get an LZB? Maik wouldn't write the 101 without the LZB.

I don’t own the dash 8. I’m talking about the base game AC4400CW. I was having serious issues with it and made a thread in the technical section of the forums but have gotten no response. (I know I'm a bit late, my internet went out or something)

Good news, Adam said in today's stream that they have backfitted LZB into the existing HRR 182.

Just because they add livery support doesn't mean you can actually use the liveries... you can't select the MP36PH C3 liveries in the menu yet.

You used to be able to, the update that broke all the other liveries on SPG, SKA, BKL and the Class 66 also broke the 363, but that hasn't been fixed yet.

You should obviously be able to use the liveries, the fact you can't is not by design but is a bug (that will eventually be fixed).

The Class 483 being still broken is Rivet's fault.

    Awesome news!! :D
Does this mean LZB will also be added to the 146.2, 185.2, and 766.2?! Since Adam and his team are also working on Main-Spessart Bahn.

    Certainly one can hope.

However, as discussed somewhere in the forum, not all lines in Germany by any means are equipped with LZB. The backfit will only really matter for HMA and SKA, and then only if your service uses the ICE tracks (or the Munich S-Bahn tracks).

The 101 and 182 are different, since they can run over 160 kmh (under LZB), whereas the older (in game terms) locos can't.

PS: 766/767 cab cars don't have LZB in real life.

True, but, your argument can also be applied to the 182, as in RT there is no LZB signalling, however the loco substitutes for freight services on HMA (not even on SKA I believe), where only a small section of the route the 'freight services' follow is equipped with LZB. Also at the moment there are zero plans (as far as I’m aware) to add IC services to HMA, let alone IC services hauled by the 182.

All the MSB rolling stock add services to SKA and the 146.2 and 185.2 run on the ICE tracks, around 35 km of SKA is equipped with LZB, so it makes sense to me.

Good catch the 766.2 indeed does not have LZB functionality, I was thinking of the 766.4 which isn’t in the game.

I think we’re agreeing here, we’d both love to have LZB added to the 146.2 and 185.2 :)

AIUI, DB locos/cabs use standardized instrument clusters and MFDs, even if some of their functionality isn't used in that particular installation.

    ----------------------
It's interesting that while the 766.4 has LZB, it like its brethren doesn't have AFB, so it's really only half a system. Sort of like the Munich 423s.

    Didn't think about that!

I don't know why that is, but as far as i know, it is only to support the driver. I would like to think that the travel time between stops is not that long (in RB/RE and S-Bahn), so you would not need to concentrate that much on holding a high speed (as ICE services would need to). But i don't know if the IC cab car has a AFB installed (AFD is something very different). Again it's only what i think.

    ---

425 and Talent 2 both have LZB (according to the switches in game) but no AFB either. The cruise control on the Talent 2 probably won't work the same under LZB as AFB would (i assume).

This may hint at the reason: apparently the 425 is limited to 140 km/h by DB except under AFB [EDIT: LZB], when it can do 160. The stated reason is the 425's iffy brakes- so it seems that LZB's utility there is to give the driver plenty of advance warning, and the bug guides his manual braking curve. Certainly that much look-ahead functionality, even without autopilot, would both be safer, and work in the dispatcher's favor as well.

If nothing else, it would take the guesswork out of 'surfing the yellows!'

    I don't think the 425 has AFB.
If i read this correct (Wikipedia: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/DB-Baureihe_425_(1999)), the Anti-Slip was to active and made trains slip past stops. Which means the 425 was limited to first 120 km/h.
After improvements it was allowed back to 140 and 160 under LZB.
In 2007 it was set back to vmax 140 under LZB (120; PZB: M)! Changes in the Software allowed the train to ho back to full speed, exept in autum.
Another additional set of brakes was needed to operate under full speed in autum.
Today vehicles with this upgrade are allowed to go 140km/h (160 with LZB).

Correct- I brainfarted and typed AFB when I meant LZB. AFB isn't a safety system and is never required for anybody.

Likely on Tuesday, since the core patch to add a DLC comes on the Tuesday before the DLC's Thursday release. If I had to guess, the majority of the patch will be those old LIRR improvements and maybe some MSB/RT improvements if we're lucky.

    Cheers

Almost 7 months for lirr to be fixed. Sorta unacceptable. It's good that they are getting fixed but at the same time I feel that could've been avoided. I do hope dtg don't do another "Preserved Collection" system again and make a "different game" which will require dlcs to be transferred over into that game because it clearly just caused more problems. I hope dtg just keeps doing yearly updates and not do that type of system again just to get continuing support and new features. It's not as if they are short on cash.

It would have been unacceptable to not port 500€ worth of DLC into the "Unreal Engine Update" Version we had to buy and are currently playing

That is also true but it's also unacceptable to port dlcs in a clear buggy state which could've been prevented. Just look at how gwe was released for example. It came in a pretty good state
