Picked this up as part of a sale bundle. A little disappointed to see just a handful of scenarios and only one with the Class 390, but hey ho. However the fun started when I attempted said scenario with the Pendie. Could not get above walking pace leaving the platform at Euston, until the down gradient over the old Carriage Line, but climbing up through Park Tunnel back to a crawl, power seemed to be cycling power/sand/brake. After a couple of minutes doing this all too much for TS which crash locked my PC. Rebooted and RTFM did not reveal anything I was doing wrong or failed to set up correctly. Could anyone enlighten me if it is user error, or is this route and motive power still the abattoir floor scrapings of the collection? At least Fife Circle is nice, albeit tinny Kuju track sound and Clinchfield plus the German route look promising.
Did you switch off the DRA? That would not stop you getting the brakes off but would stop you taking power. Find a different electrified route, not WCML-South and do a Quick Drive with the Pendolino so you find out how it works
DRA is off... I also have the original Pendolino (the ones with the faux LMS livery) and these had no issue on WCML North and Shap. A little sluggish off the mark, but got going okay. If it continues to be an issue I’ll either try to sub in a Class 86 or 87 hauled set with RW Tools, or set up a scenario with same - more fun to drive anyway!
Working okay on second attempt so no idea what was wrong yesterday evening. I'm off to Birmingham (virtually)!
As a postscript I recant my earlier sentiment that the route is off the slaughterhouse floor. It's actually quite good. As someone who commuted between Northampton and London for a few years, albeit in the late 70's and early 80's it is very recognisable, though it really needs a Class 310 and a few 81 - 85 roarers on Mark One stock to revive the "Cobblers". And yes, definitely a shame the Northampton Loop wasn't included.
AP have an 86 Enhancement pack and Vulcan Productions have reskin for it with alpha/numeric headcodes. AP also have a Mk 1 pack.
I think I have the DT Mark Ones installed, so just a question of finding time to hit the scenario editor.
That sounds like a plan, though I'm also eyeing the 4CEP which - no traditional body style i.e. sliding windows aside - seems to be getting rave reviews everywhere. Fairly certain I've got their Dusty Bin pack (321) which will be more to my taste for the outer suburban services. I'm guessing the 378 that comes with the route is AI only, but hoping the entire DC line is there and driveable. Seems a load of missed opportunities with this route so far as the supplied scenarios are concerned.
I messaged someone who had just purchased WCML south and asked him if the overhead wires were still missing between Euston and Watford and he said yes they were,i e-mailed support a while ago and they said after 2 updates they were working on it, so i presume its another lost cause and it will never be fixed?
If you tried a Quick Drive you would see there are main line and DC options available But you can not get an 8 car 4-Big/Cig in the bay at Watford That is normal for DTG Routes - has been for years and why they say Check the Workshop
There are a couple of very good early 90s-era scenarios for the route by Golden Goldsmith on AlanThomsonsim
Any idea where please, as there are only 11 scenarios showing under his name on ATS and none of them are for WCML South that I can see, and there is nothing on the GGS website either for that route, it's all mainly for his Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway layout. Cheerz. Steve.
Whereabouts is your friend looking??? I've just driven Northbound from Euston to Watford and cannot see any OHLE missing anywhere. This is Willesden (plenty of knitting there), Wembley Central, South Kenton, Bushey and up to Watford, nothing amiss anywhere, I think your friend needs to re-install his DLC again and make sure his scenery sliders are maxed out. Cheerz. Steve.
Looks like someone has answered your prayers, Peter. https://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=40310 Cheerz. Steve.
I think that just gives you different views from different coaches - but there are no passengers AFAIK Peter
