I would like to see Amtrak's Philadelphia-Harrisburg Line (Keystone Corridor) in Train Simulator. Both Amtrak and Septa trains run on this line between Philly and Harrisburg. Additionally, Norfolk Southern has trackage rights over the entire line. All the photos below were taken on this proposed line. ~ https://d1k5w7mbrh6vq5.cloudfront.net/images/cache/7b/44/7e/7b447e8a056fb28ac3603c382464d466.jpg ~ https://forums.dovetailgames.com/at...8/?temp_hash=a430f8db3f5b005e4e1f37b3e1824e31 ~ http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/pictures/39303/09 04-13 018.JPG ~ http://subwaynut.com/amtrak/harrisburg/harrisburg10.jpg
What engines for the route? I'd like to suggest an NS ET44AC, ES40DC, C40-9W, or SD80ACU for heavy freights, a 3GS21B Genset, GP38-2 or GP60, and the Amtrak Acela, plus a SEPTA engine. The Strasburg Line is needed too.
For locos, I was thinking the NS ET44AC, NS SD70ACU, NS GP40-2, the ACS-64 in Amtrak and Septa liveries, and Amtrak's Metroliner Cab Car.
The first picture link is of two NS 6-axle high horsepower road switchers leading an intermodal/TOFC train.
All the locals are run by sd60e’s and dash 9s on the keystone line, they have to use power that’s equipped with cab signals
At least now at days H84 is always six axles(confirmed from a conductor who runs it regularly) here is a shot I took from a while back
Great idea and for ACS-64 a reskin is needed to turn Amtrak ACS-64 600-670 into SEPTA ACS-64 901-915.
To help reinvigorate some interest in this route, because I feel TS1 on the American side of things, is mostly oversaturated with freight/mountainous routes. And there needs to be more of a balance with Pax oriented stuff. The Keystone would certainly still be a great option, even if the route(s) I suggested gets overlooked by DTG or 3rd party. Would really love to see this route to get some Keystone Cab Car equipment, which has been totally neglected in TS. Some SEPTA runs, even unbranded stuff would be welcomed. Being able to do a the Pennsylvanian, although the route will likely not be done past Harrisburg. But still would be nice to try having that simulated across two routes (the other being the heavily dated NEC).
Agreed. if they made it for such a mostly pointless NEC route in TSW.. they could have, and should have been done for TS.. even the dated NEC would have certainly been a great contender for it. But they're also useful on the NYNH route as well. It's just upsetting the way this company gives us what we want in a game many of us still aren't that invested in, instead of the one we still are. I know it's just a strategy to get people to move/switch over to TSW, but to many of us who have been loyal to TS1, TSW still isn't a proven product. And without the biggest promised feature(s) that I will not name here, may never be.
So with some research (opening a tab on Wikipedia) I found that the Paoli/Thorndale line is 35 miles long. A bit further is Lancaster at 68 miles, so perhaps either of these could be feasible terminals for DTG. Or perhaps an initial route for $39.99 doing the route to Lancaster, and a $29.99 extension to Harrisburg,
