Although the entire route would be long, I think the 150 mph section with the Acela would be a perfect high speed route for Train Sim World 2. It would also include the Northeast Regional and possibly MBTA

For the huge area of American railroads, is this route too short? However, it is long enough for TSW, and I am willing to pay high expenses for this section of the route.

Length is 225 miles from NY Penn Station to Boston South Station. Voltages are 12.5kv 25hz Penn Station to Sunnyside Yards Then 12.5kv 60hz Sunnyside Yards to New Haven and lastly 25kv 60hz New Haven-Boston. Shorter by 80 miles than the Train Sim 21 London to Penzance Western Main Lines DLC 305 miles.

Comparing lengths on TS to TSW is pointless. TS is no where near as demanding as TSW. TSW haven't even broken 70 miles never mind 200.

The fundamental reason is that few people can participate in TSW except for DTG itself and a limited number of third-party studios.
If you really want to develop the Northeast Corridor route, it is actually very simple, because the length of the route exceeds the longest history of TSW, so they can cooperate with third-party studios to develop large-scale projects.
DTG from Washington DC to Philadelphia is responsible for development. SKYHOOK GAME developed from Philadelphia to New York. The remaining two third-party studios develop from New York to Boston.

    No, that's not my point...
Train Sim Classic routes could be much longer than a TSW route simply because it's less demanding, a lot of devices would struggle with a 300 mile route.

The only issues with bigger routes are development time and potentially hard (or solid state) drive space. With any route, even the smaller ones in TSW, it's only loading the sections of the map it needs to. So no matter how big the route is it's not gonna run poorer just because it's a 200 mile route.
