Should be an achievable one to produce. 1980s saw the Glasgow to Edinburgh route given mk3 rolling stock and type 4 Class 47/7s. Allowed to run to 100mph with a DBSO driving open coach (mk2).

Half hourly timetable for the above.

The Class 101 (often spoken about negatively on here but it's a good drive) would be right at home also.

They would often run services via the Falkirk Grahamston route.

Class 37s saw use in the area but mainly on West Highland bound trains.

Class 26 would be an absolute winner often on smaller freight and civil engineering type duties.

08 shunter could also be seen.

I would strongly suggest including Stirling which gives a true Central Scotland network and even the line to Grangemouth. This would give and overall good mileage and great variety of operations.

Back in MSTS days making tracks developed a route based on this concept.

TS2021 also has one set in the First Scotrail era with Class 170s.

The climb out of Glasgow Queen Street up Cowlairs Bank is one of the best for a driving challenge with the right (poor) conditions.

I think this route would massively suit service mode.

    Fingers crossed its considered.

I would prefer first Scotrail era with the 170s to be honest.
Or the modern era with the 170 & 385.
    And new Queen St

I would fancy the 80s version. I remember seeing the 47/7s on push/pull.
    .
Did the 107s ever do Glasgow to Edinburgh?

Something that would also be good is to have the line to Carstairs so you could take a diesel down and shunt the Birmingham trains together.

Do the transition year and have both 47s and 27s!

107s Often ran on Glasgow to Falkirk Grahamston and return services also Glasgow to Cumbernauld and some through stopping trains to Edinburgh plus Dunblane and Stirling. Eastfield maintained them along with 101s after Ayr gave them up following Electrification of that route.

great suggestion though i think it'll be better for a class 47 doing push pull trains on a route from either glasgow or edinburgh to aberdeen so we get a different version of the Scotrail triangle.

The modern version has only just released. Time to go somewhere else before heading back to Scotland

I ask for something interesting and the opposite is produced. A one handled dull as dishwater bug fest with working lifts. If that's what the community want fine but me and TSW are heading for the final split now....

Locomotive Services Limited have restored a Class 47/7 and matching push pull stock and it is running between Edinburgh and Glasgow on February 25th, so in theory it could layer in to the modern day route.
