So recently I've been thinking about how GWE got the diesel legends pack and how it got a more or less mixed reception and thought to myself, what if there was something like this for CSX Sand Patch Grade. So I though of this idea. A 1990s "legends pack" for SPG. As far a locomotives go I though that this pack should add 3 of them. 2 would be mainline motive power, and the other would be a road switcher or smaller engine. For the first big locomotive, I would love to see GE's AC6000CW. The other locomotive for mainline fright would be the SD50. As far as the last engine goes, I would like to see either GP40-2 or MP15. I'm leaning more towards the GP40-2 because it can be used on mainline freight trains. As far as freight cars go, I would like to see more variety in mixed freight. So adding coil steel cars, bulkhead flat car/ centerbeams, and finally gondolas would be cool. Another thing I really want is TOFC or piggyback well cars to add more variety to intermodal. The cool thing is that all the locomotives for SPG can be used with this pack (granted they only use the yn2 scheme) so there would be a big variety of locos on the route. Locomotives AC6000CW SD50 MP15 or GP40-2 Freight Cars Coil Steel Car Bulkhead/Centerbeam Gondola Piggyback/TOFC I know this would be a bit ambitious considering almost everything would be new. However, considering that this is the first route in the game and it has only seen one dlc (not counting GP40-2 in tsw because it was made for NEC) it would be cool to see this route get some cool dlc.
I like this idea, but I feel a pack including stock from the 70s or 80s would be better. The 90s was still CSX. If you go back into the 70s or 80s, you'll get to have B&O or Chessie System
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Amtrak was running on the route at the same time. So would I believe it would make sense if they were included in the bundle.
I think someone suggested that so if you combine his idea with this then we have a larger route with a tad bit more diversaty.
Personally I'm in favor of just adding it as set dressing. Make things feel more live even if it is unusable.
This looks awesome, locos like these are a must. I think a pack for CRR would be more reasonable though, since we’re going forward in time kinda like how we went back in time with the diesel legends pack for GWE.
Why not the line across the river from the SPG that has a "picture perfect" curve. THe line I am talking about is currently the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. If you time the route right then there would be a new route and engines for both the SPG and the CRR.
